Re: Dr. Mirage: Second Lives #1 Discussion
Do you guys have any tips on reading those magical language?
Do you mean the pictograph / hieroglyphs spoken by the spirit released from the scroll they opened in Barcelona? I talked about that in the VCR podcast episode I linked in my post above - I think they are either Egyptian or Summerian in ...

Re: Ivar, Timewalker #12 Discussion
The recent FLV interview confirmed he has a project line up with Valiant that's not centered around the three brothers.
Judging by the ending of this issue, I'm 100% sure he's going to write the Unity reboot starring XO Manowar, Ninjak, Livewire, Armstrong and Neela the Timewalker.

Re: X-O Manowar: Commander Trill #0
On toilet I just have this idea that comics books should abandon the usual one-writer-one-book thing. We already have books with two writers collaborating, and books with multiple artists collaborating. I mean Matt Kindt would be the perfect guy for concept and pitch, Robert Venditti for story and ...

Unity #25 Discussion
The PSAs are hilarious.
The other shorts, however, didn't work because Unity doesn't have a rich and long enough history to do these weird and parallel world adventures parodies. So Woody, you failed big time!

Re: X-O Manowar: Commander Trill #0
My only problem is that BOD:XOM completely spoiled the fate of Trill, making the upcoming conflicts significantly more uninteresting to me.
How he got to that point is where the story is.
That's my implicit point. Spoiler for BOD: Thrill is basically the same person in BOD:XOM as he's been ...

Re: Imperium #10
Fantastic issue. One of my favorite bits was how the Vine kept misunderstanding Harada or not saying exactly what he told them. Which directly lead to their provoking him, foolishly. I really like how strongly this ties the Vine to the Harbinger side of the VU.
I don't think misunderstanding ...

Re: The anticlimatic ending in Valiant titles
Second that Harbinger Wars has the best resolution and setup for individual titles afterwards. It also introduces tons of new characters.
Armor Hunters have great new characters, but the resolution is not as good.

Re: The direction of Doctor Mirage
Really the only problem I had about the difference of directions is whenever obstacles/threats came up in this five issues, Shan was really clueless and had to look for others (oftentimes Hwen) for solutions/help. A great quality for real life like characters, not so much for a superheroine ...

Re: Jeff Lemire Bloodshot run length NYCC'15
I'm not impressed, especially considering his decompression. Lemire is taking on too many books across the industry. A guy's ideas can easily run out in a duration of time, and the only way is decompression to stretch it out.

Re: So, my BoD fear...
Wasn't Fall of Harby saying that all may or may not happen, and they may differ a lot, or only a bit?
Basically they chart a rough course, and reserved the right to change it whenever they want, however they like.
I think this is the clever thing to do, because somethings can't be certain, like ...

Not much really happened but then the main players converge to one point again, I just can't believe how he could wrap this up in two issues.

Re: The direction of Doctor Mirage
It's funny that somewhere in this thread we are dragged into a *SQUEE* different topic than original post intended. I was talking about different direction, approach, focus, then somehow I was dragged into the mud and kicked over and over for saying she's portraying differently in two books, while ...

Simple, in Shadowman she kicks *SQUEE* and in her mini Hwen does everything and she's the princess in adventure.

Re: The direction of Doctor Mirage
Are you sure they are not intersecting or conflicting? Because you then said her own series take precedence.
Is this some kind of manifestation of subconscious recognition?

It's just jarring to have her with a very different characterization than the introduction in Shadowman, especially if you read the two closely together.

I'm talking about all the freaking cliches and the illogical cliffhanger ending of this issue. How did Ray only detect the hand, but not the bigger part of the body? And talk about decompression. Three pages of Magic going to toilet while more destruction to Kay's character. And Bloodshot realized ...
