an original oil for $3500 is not that bad. i know its expensive but art is subjective and, in the grand scale of things, 3500 is not a lot of money for original art. If you like magnus and predator, this will be your cup of tea.

classic trust and bait strategy. sell a few things, get positive feedback, build trust, then screw people of their money until the gig is up. he wont be selling any more on ebay but so what? he got his money and now he can buy as much cocaine as he likes.

If you are going to drop 100K on a piece of art, it is best to buy a real original painting on canvas. The reason why i suggest an original painting is that you improve your ability to sell it later because original comic art is very specialized and will be harder to find a buyer, whereas, original ...

I do not want to sound mean, but Liefeld is an arrogant jerk with little talent and he was always late. He was the posterchild of what was wrong with Image comics in the early 90s. He sucks.

Also, why do all of Liefeld's characters have the same facial expression, mouth slightly open ...

Weren't all of the Supreme #1's marked Volume Two or something? I remember being baffled by that one back then.

Yeah I never got what that was about either?

IIRC Liefeld wanted to a do a mini-series prequal that explained Supreme's origin and eventually (years later) it was done as The Power of ...

Valiant caught the attention of the speculators not because of triple gate-fold foil stamped covers polybagged with a trading card. They caught the attention of the speculators because of the quality of the content..

I'm sorry, but that is not true. Card dealers didnt read comic books. They had ...

Yep, the Death of Superman (#75) had a print run of 4 million copies. Still, superman was an icon and he never gets hurt. So, DC makes an issue where he dies. Its a big deal. Yet, out of nowhere, Turok #1 had a print run of 1.75 million. Turok #1? Huh? Who the F$ck is Turok? Well, of course i know ...

from my understanding, many of the speculators were sportscard vampires who destroyed their industry in the late 80's. Now that the sports card industry was in the toilet, they rolled onto the comic book industry like a pack of leper wolves. The sports card dealers all went out of buisness with ...

The fact heat is applied to the comics during pressing is a stumbling block to some.

Yup - I believe even the LOC states that high heat can alter the paper fibers. Add pressure to that, and it can't be good for the comic. That's why I don't ever want a pressed book, it may look like a nice 9.4 ...

No, that pretty much describes the attitude in the Comic Market pre-CGC. Early 90s qualifies.

I hope I'm not getting my stories confused. The point is that dealers spend time trying to figure out how to rip off collectors. Its a sad situation, and its because of this attitude that CGC was created ...

If pressing is not something that needs to be disclosed because it is not considered restoration, and if pressing results in a higher CGC scores, then every book that CGC rates will be pressed because there is no ethics in comic books when it comes to money. I apologize for offending anyone, but it ...
