ManofTheAtom wrote:What about investing in comic book publishers?

A while ago (decade?) Marvel stock was at 2 dollars and today it's considerably more than that.

I could have invested in that but didn't have the capital.
The funny thing is that most of Marvel's money is not from making comic books.

I think Valiant could have been the next Marvel but like so many other companies they got caught up in the hype of the pre-comic crash with all the variant covers and insanely huge print runs. If they would have kept Shooter at the helm and had a stable business foundation I think they would ...

I wonder if this is really an all-new story? Do we know if this just isn't some unpublished story by Jim Shotter that they unearthed? Still will be cool to see it....

Is it doubtful that we will see Magnu and Solar come back or do they have the rights to those too?

I'm thinking releasing 2 or 3 HC ...

ok so this looks like a website that helps you organize your books with the ability to show off your collection and allow opportunity for trade/sale.. Im guessing that they will want a cut of the sales of a book, kind of eBay-ish..

That's what it appears to be and that's how they hope to pay for ...

The sad reality, though, is that 97% of all people who buy comics could not care less about dings, dents, etc.

That's me, to a point. I can put up with a little crinkle or two, or even a smallish ding if it's a book I'm using to fill out a run. If I don't like the condition of comics I receive I ...

It will provide some protection. If the level of the flood waters go above the top of the container your comics will be gone. If you can store them high up or on the 2nd floor that would be best. I would never recommend putting comics in a basement. Basements can be damp areas and could attract mold ...

I think the MH Custom Mailers are the best. I used to have a N.I.C.E. subscription for a few years and never got any comics damaged. I couldn't imagine a better way to ship comics.

I have never ordered from Lone Star but I think it is silly if they are not willing to ship a $20 comic with a bag ...

I have read some New Universe stuff but honestly I just could never really get into it. I voted Defiant above but that was before I read that he was looking for what universe felt the most liek Valiant. Personally, I think none.
