Nah. They knew it didn't have staples so I figured it wasn't worth it to go back and fight. He held the book when I asked to see it out of the bag and board. Oh, this was also the same place that I bought a TMNT #3 second print as a first print. Wans't that much $ and I probably should have looked. They did take back a GI Joe 155 that I bought that I was completely unhappy with though.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:

That Groo Special #1 is a relatively tough book to come by. LOWWWW print run (this was supposed to be a Pacific book, but Pacific was going under right at that time, so the Rocketeer and Groo Specials came out as Eclipse books.)

At least using MH as a gauge, that appears to be the highest dollar value Groo book. Moreso than the Pacific and Epic stuff.

Huh...? Turtles #3 second print is comic book sized, with a completely different cover. There was only one printing of the magazine sized blue cover.400yrs wrote:Nah. Awesome! I've bought a few that way, too. It shames me that so many people don't understand how brilliant Groo is.whovianone wrote:I just got one at my LCS dollar sale.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:That it is.....though you can get it on eBay for $5 or less if you're diligent.400yrs wrote:Wow. Nice story !!! And great Groo find as well !! I love my Groo . . .400yrs wrote:I bought a Simpsons #1, Itchy and Scrathcy, #1 Groo (Eclipse #1), about 5 late issues of Groo, a handful of Acclaims and valiants all for about $15.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:
So how much did you pay?
And I can't say that I feel bad about it, because this was the same place that sold me a Batman 93 in VG shape at Overstreet Price guide price only to find out that the book had no staples when I got home.

Still an urban legend... as "provable" as the Yeti.Chiclo wrote:Is that for real?depluto wrote:I never think of the Bloodshot platinum as necessary for a complete collection. It's right up there with the white Solar 10 ... just a goof.
But I would still love to have one.
This is the second time I have heard of this.

Yeah, they would have turned up by now if they existed. Who was the person who claimed they saw one of these? I can't remember who it was now.greg wrote:Still an urban legend... as "provable" as the Yeti.Chiclo wrote:Is that for real?depluto wrote:I never think of the Bloodshot platinum as necessary for a complete collection. I don't remember the name, but remember how *SQUEE* he used to get when someone would call him on his "White Solar #10" bluff? He never had any proof, but we were just supposed to believe a book that no one has ever seen existed.Daniel Jackson wrote:

Hahaha.. yeah that was pretty funny. Didn't he say he saw in a back issue bin somewhere, but didn't buy it?Brother J wrote:I don't remember the name, but remember how *SQUEE* he used to get when someone would call him on his "White Solar #10" bluff? That's as bad as when I saw the X-O/IronMan video game variant and didn't buy it. Of course now I'm wondering if it was all a dream.Daniel Jackson wrote:Hahaha.. yeah that was pretty funny.
