I'm coming up to my fourth year attempting to get a pre-unity set in 9.8. The ones I don't have are the toughest to get in my opinion of course. A&A GOLD, Rai 5, and MRF 0 with card.

I got a Archer & Armstrong #0 GOLD for $7.50 and $4 shipping, It has'nt arrvied yet. I hope its in good condition looks like the seller had it in a maylar sleeve all this time.

I place very idiosyncratic values on CGC SS books. These are a few factors I consider:

(1) Is the book significant to the comics world?
(2) Is it significant to me personally?
(3) Who signed it (someone important to comics or someone I like alot)?
(4) How does it look on the cover?
(5) How does ...

so there's really no way to gague how much more these are worth compared to 9.6 non signed? Pretty much the same value is hard to believe. thanks for posting everyone, ill check out the CGC board.

Its a tough one, I'd say if they were 9.8's then they might command more than the un-signed 9.8 ...

I'd need a bit more info like what comic and who signed it. Is it a key book or a run of the mill toilet paper example.

That will determin its desirability and value.

Good thread, I've been away for a while (summers here) but still on the look out to complete my CGC 9.8 Pre-Unity run. I'm still very happy with my Harby #1 CGC 9.8.

I'm amazed that it is only in the last year or two that it has been revived and is in demand. Back in the UK this graphic novel was in the bargin bins for ever. It was as if regular comic book readers were affraid to embrace a graphic novel.

A qualified green label (no coupon) CGC 9.8 Harbinger 1 sold in January 2008 for $455.

If my memory serves me right it was purchased by a board member with deep pockets who admitted that he didn't notice/understand what the green lable was. He was just desperate (like a few of us back then) to ...

A big thanks to Worldbestcomics, in the third quarter of last year he had two books I needed for my collection. A Solar #5 CGC 9.8 and a Magnus #7 CGC 9.8.

For me it's knowing I have the best of what I can afford at the time, the chase for perfection. CGC collectors are a breed apart I think. Yes I still love to read the comics but after I've read them several times I don't read them again, I just want a perfect copy.

I think I got a bargin for Magnus #13 CGC 9.8 off EBay at the weekend, only $89 shipped. Very hard to find graded as the cover kind of sucked when it came out compaired to most other pre-unity covers, which I think put people off from buying it. :D
