Re: DC Relaunch Story Discussions ONLY (no market info or sp

I'm posting reviews of most of the New 52 on my website if anyone wants to join in a discussion there. I'm going to try and review as many of them as possible.

Re: New Scarlet Spider #1

I'll admit, Spidey was almost un-readable for so many months. Now that Dan Slott is at the helm, the comic is excellent again. Like I've said before, you can tell he loves and respects the character. JMS and Quesada totally messed him up, but I think they're fixing it now.

As for the Scarlet Spider ...

Re: Spider Island

I don't think it's all that Manga-ish. I really thought that Dan Slott showed how much he loves Spidey in this one. There's a ton going on as everyone is gaining Spider-man's powers. It was just a fantastic and fun story. I like Ramos for the most part, his style has a lot of energy going for it. Is ...

Re: Stormwatch #1

I really disliked the issue as a whole. Quite frankly, I thought it was poop. But you can check my review at Mark's Comic Book Review Center

Reviews from a Valiant Fan

I've done a lot of reviews lately. So with prices being what they are with comics, isn't it nice to know if something is worth the money first? I hope to help people make some decent choice with what they pick up. I do big reviews of all the Gold Key stuff coming out and then quick reviews for all ...

A late Doctor Solar #2 Review

I finally got around to reading it. My opinion may not be the most popular, but this is my take on it. Check it out here!

Man I hated Onslaught. Ugh, the bad memories of that.

Identity Crisis is still one of the most important events in DC Comics. The repercussions are still felt to this day.

I have a feeling in a few years, we'll be saying, "What was Blackest Night about besides Black Lanterns?"

Comic books ain't what they used to be in terms of sales. Part of me is still sad that we don't have semi-affordable "chrome" variants, etc. like we used to. That being said, if Solar stays at this level, it stands a good chance of being around for awhile. But if it drops below #125, that's not so ...

These aren't quite what I thought (or dreamed of is more accurate), however, sometimes we get the slow build. We have to remember, these first issues are to reintroduce characters. If we're still meh after issue 3, then we may have a problem.

My review of Magnus Robot Fighter #1

Ok, I'm following Magnus too, even til the bitter end. Keep in mind, I'm a very bitter person! But then again, Fosters is too bitter.

My Magnus Review, now in Technicolor

Hope somebody finds it useful. I have a link to my other blog there, but I'm trying to separate the comic stuff into one blog ...

Good catch on the connection between Magnus and Solar! :-) That's pretty cool. I kind of hope they eventually do some sort of crossover, but I'm just stoked about this whole rebirth.

I'm going to have to voice my support for Jim Shooter, even if he isn't the easiest person in the world to work for ...

Some recent reviews of stuff I've been reading at http://markscomicbookreviewcenter.blogspot.com. Figured maybe somebody would find it useful. I've been giving some quick reviews lately since I've been reading more than I have time to do a detailed review for. :-)

The first few issues were quite good. Then the Blackest Night occurred and sucked the life out of it. In more ways than one. Hopefully with Blackest Night out of the title it'll be good again.
