I liked #1 a lot, great intro to the characters, lots of action but still good character moments. It is my firm belief that Paul Cornell will become, if he wants to, the Geoff Johns of the Marvel world. He gets why the universe is cool, he writes the characters well and yet he doesn't resort to ...

A little too "mysterious hero appears and all the other heroes fight him for no well-defined reason" for me. Great art though.

Just read this last week. Not bad, not great. I like the Maurice F issues of Harbinger pretty well but I didn't feel this was quite as good. It felt a little more forced.

I was strangely interested by this book. Sim's definitely pushing the limits of comicbook storytelling and, perhaps, pushing the limits of what his audience will accept. At an every-other month rate I'm onboard as long as it continues to be interesting.

Great read, thanks Greg. I always love reading about the early days, even though it's a bit bittersweet. I think it's interesting that there were going to be possibly more Gold Key revivals and reprints. I think Turok would have been a much different (and better) book if Shooter had still been ...

Great.
I haven't been a cheesehead for 15 years now. I have, however, joined the dark side to the West and now reside in Minneapolis. Brewers play the Twins tonight and I don't know who to root for!

That's a hard list to argue with.

I would love to see the characters picked up in the present day, the VH-Shooter versions. Remember in Unity 2000 there was a distinction made the VH-1 characters and VH-Shooter. The VH-Shooter characters were his version of how the characters would have been if he had been writing them in the years ...

Welcome to the boards and I also had a letter printed in VH-2 Magnus :thumb:

Rock on! :thumb: I wish Valiant proper had had more letters columns. It's odd they didn't as Shooter seems to like those. I remember reading a really old Spider-man comic and seeing a letter from Jim SHooter in ...

I don't really remember, I think it was chocolate and pretty good. It was done as a mock-up of Warriors of Plasm #1 and I believe that I ate a piece of the Defiant watchtower!

This really sounds like a Shooter era Valiant/Broadway Comics caliber story. All the old trappings are there: a concept developed by Shooter with the first plotline being written (or co-written) by him set in the real world starring heroes with ...

That was a great interview, thank you! Alan Moore and Jim Shooter are the only two people who I get goosebumps when reading what they have to say about comics. Both really get the medium and have a genuine passion for it.

Hello!

Greetings,

I'm an old school Valiant reader. I got interested around Magnus 3 or 4 when the owner of the LCS in Eau Claire, WI where I worked at started raving about the series. I'd never paid much attention to Shooter nor Magnus writing one off as an egomaniac and the other as a dated concept. I ...
