At 7AM, I was all ready. Got to work, got settled in, and spent 3 straight hours in lab and totally forgot.

Crap.

When does the next one become available?

I will for sure be bidding on this one since I wasn't eligible for the board sale . And it's an extra special one, so even more so now

How did your two examples prove anything?

Your own argument proves to me that you should have had no reserve on either auction.

Just start the bidding at your reserve and let it ride.

The $600 might have gone even higher if that many people bid within 10 hours...

When I see a reserve auction... I immediately assume...

It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a good deal in a reserve auction,
because good deals are always below the ...

Another way to look at reserves from a seller standpoint is what is the market value currently. Say as the seller you have $200 invested in an item and make that your reserve but start the auction at $9.99. But in the end it only reaches $135, not meeting your reserve. Now you know, OK, the value ...

Sometimes I post the reserve, sometimes not, but I usually answer when people message about the reserve.

The reserve is obviously there to protect the seller, but the more important question no one has asked is why not start the auction at the reserve price instead. Aside from fees, I don't do that ...

Peckers annoy, sure, but they're easily defeated in the end as everyone basically has found out.

The worst, and I mean WORST, from a seller's point of view, is the bid retractor. You know, that jerk that puts in a high bid to find out the reserve, leaves it long enough so that everyone sees it ...

I assume this is why dreamship can afford to overpay for rare Valiants and sell them at little/no profit after CGC.

You think they have a hate for Valiant? The recent Magnus and Harbinger sidebars suggest otherwise. And I'm amazed that they still have Valiant titles listed in the price guide. Lots and lots of other good books don't get ...

CGC doesn't do trade paperbacks. I believe that there may be another company out there who does grade them, but am clueless as to who they actually are. CGC is comic mag only.
