Dude, this looks amazing! Can't wait to check it out!

Any thought to releasing an app? If you're already making it mobile, it might not be too much of a stretch. I'd pay for it and it could be amazing PR for VALIANT.

Feel free, it's over at valiantdatabase.com...don't want to divulge plans too far ahead but a mobile app is on my to do list once I set up an API. I have been in touch with Greg about adding some of his data to this as well so that will drop soon. As for Valiant PR...that may be in the works as well, stay tuned.

This will always be free, but I have some ideas...

I did quite a bit of code optimization last night so expect about a 20% increase in speed and performance across the board and even faster searches. Expect another minor code update by the end of the week as I get ready for another big release in the next couple of weeks.

Another day, another update! The homepage now shows new releases for the upcoming week. The images should switch over automatically on Wednesdays for the next batch of books. Additionally, if you frequent these boards, you may notice the image below looks familiar, as similar code is also powering the VFans banner for new releases. More coming soon!

Pushed a small update this morning...you can now export upcoming releases to a spreadsheet which you can then print out and take to your LCS. More soon

That has been on the to do list for a little while...there's going to be one more minor code update before I start on the next big update which will include the ability to create multiple wishlists for cons. That update will also include Greg's pricing data from his database.

After that, you may start seeing VH1 and VH2 books showing up

New database update...i added a table view for those of you who just want a faster way to add books to your collection. There are no links to get there yet, but just add /table to a title's list to see it in action (for example valiantdatabase.com/books/xomanowar/table). This also works for the My Collection view as well.

I also added a Releases by Month menu where you can see current, previous, and next month's books at a glance. From here you can also export the releases to a spreadsheet for when you go to your LCS or place your DCBS order. More coming soon!

Sent out a minor update this morning to fix some bugs, improve usability on mobile, and changed how titles are dynamically generated.

Creator bios are live, you can see what they look like from the screenshots below...there's still a few to add but a good chunk are in there. Pricing will be in the next release

I'm jealous. I miss programming, it's been fifteen years since I spent the prior eighteen coding. I loved having my project and just polishing and polishing and polishing until it was flawless.

For those of you using the database, it will be down for maintenance tonight for AT MOST a couple of hours as I transition it to a server with a higher capacity (reached the limit on the free one today). The new releases section here at VFans is being powered by the database so if you don't see it, you'll know why. The upgrade will allow me to expand into classic Valiant and Acclaim books as well as other improvements. Thanks!

BIG UPDATE
I uploaded a new code release which implements a new wishlist feature. Additionally, the new Add to Collection (the heart) and Add to Wishlist (the star) buttons now load without reloading the page to make it faster to add/remove books. There's a couple bugs in that still, but it is usable.

MOST IMPORTANTLY
The old collection feature has been deprecated so if you have books in your collection, you should start porting them to the new collection. The new code is better, leaner and faster but i had to make a tough choice and is NOT compatible with the old code. Sorry! This will allow me to do some cool things with the collection in the future (read: statistics) so it will be worth it.

Also, there are about 200 or so vh1 books listed, so I expect the rest to be in within a week or so if time permits.
