not meaning to spoil anything here but he's actually used a couple of different costumes in the 3 issues so far.Phoenix8008 wrote:I haven't read any of these other than previews, but the 'costume' just bugs the heck out of me. The all white 3 piece suit plus the 'bag over the head' mask just bugs the heck out of me. I agree that Ellis seems like a great writer for this series, but the visuals just bug me too much. Give his classic cowl/cape back!

Re: New Moon Knight
it might not be Jordan's cup of tea (and it's probably not for everyone) but i'm LOVING it. the three issues so far have been standalone stories. I do agree that it hasn't been building to a larger plot as of yet but i think it's just been a really damn fun comic with absolutely gorgeous artwork.lorddunlow wrote:Bone-A-Fach-ee wrote:lorddunlow wrote:So, is it weird that this synopsis has me intrigued and wanting to read this series?Bone-A-Fach-ee wrote:Just read #3. What is going on here? Are all these issues standalone 1-shot types? Nothing advances any plot. It's like.... ooooh, ghosts. Can't beat ghosts. then some random dead bird tells him he has "stuff" that can. He uses it, beats ghosts. The end.
Art was great though.
I was reading along, like "I knew MarkRoseHFX was full of *SQUEE*" and then I got to the dead bird part, and thought, "that sounds pretty cool..."

Re: New Moon Knight
I picked up number 3 but I think I'm done with this title. I don't see that anything interesting is being done with it. I imagine that Ellis had some ideas floating around that he wanted to use in a comic, but I don't see that they're being used in any way that's part of a larger comic story. Rather more like sketches for comic writing, but I'm not going to shell out $4 for it.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

It looks like Ellis is done with this title as of issue #6.

That's a shame. Not a surprise, but a shame.jeremycoe wrote:It looks like Ellis is done with this title as of issue #6.
Valiant is the son of the New Universe.

I'm actually very much liking this new Moon Knight. I wish Shadowman was half as good.

Not many people can write as well as Ellis. Welcome to the board.QUARTZ wrote:I'm actually very much liking this new Moon Knight. I wish Shadowman was half as good.

Being a "moonie" also helps. I love the Moon Knight character period, but these new issues are in a league of their own. It's easy to see why they sell out.StarBrand wrote:Not many people can write as well as Ellis. Welcome to the board.QUARTZ wrote:I'm actually very much liking this new Moon Knight. Re: New Moon Knight
Finally got around to read the first 4 issues. Awesome visuals, very new-reader friendly, but I feel like I'm not reading a comic, more like a MK homage magazine of some sort. The sleep issue was the best, imo.
I would like to see a little more substance to the story (which is...?????) and the sense that this book is indeed going somewhere. It's fun to look at (like it is really, really good artwork and coloring) but that's not enough for me to keep reading it. I jumped in because I had loads of nostalgic love for this character, and I hoped that WE stayed longer. I'm not sure if I'll keep reading it after 6.
