Re: What video game are you currently playing?
I finished Ryse: Son of Rome. Not the greatest game, but my overall impression is that it didn't deserve all the negative reviews. Gameplay was simple, but enjoyable, and the graphics are truly next-gen. Story was compelling and made you want to keep playing.
Now I've restarted Dead Rising 3. That game is silly fun, and mowing down hundreds of zombies with the crazy vehicles you can build is awesome! On the flip side, finding yourself in the middle of hundreds of zombies with a 2x4 as your only weapon can result in many a "holy *SQUEE*" moments!!

I love the Tales series. Tales of Symphonia was my favorite. The play mechanics are my absolute favorite - typical HUGE JRPG story and gameplay elements, but none of that boring, monotonous turn-based fighting. Just good ol' Street Fighter style combat with the added RPG items/magic/etc elements.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Ok, so since we're getting a new THIEF game later this month, I thought of playing some of the "best" stealth games of recent times, minus MGS.
I'm still struggling through Assassin's Creed II (not hard, more like it's not my thing- i can not think of a less proper environment for a game that has Assassin in it's title): I have yet to play Brotherhood and Revelations, so I can FINALLY play AC III. I am not a big fan of thi series so far, the 1st game was a "one cool but repetitive idea" thing and the second has nothing to do with what I consider a stealth game, minus some bits here and there.
So, I went to the nearest gamestop and bought Dishonored's GOTY edition, a game that I've been checking since it's first trailer (I REFUSE to buy games on release day, unless it REALLY, REALLY need to find what happened in a story- e.g. God of War 3).
But then, as I was going to leave saw a copy of RED DEAD REDEMPTION GOTY, and brought it as well.
That was 12 hours ago, and I already spent 8 playing RDR- what a *SQUEE* amazing piece of a game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I guess this month I will be a badass cowboy instead of a dashing rogue.

If you didn't care for AC 2, then I highly doubt you'll like the later installments. It's pretty much more of the same with a few additions to combat and such. I've really enjoyed the series, but AC 3 would probably get the most gripes for bugs and the awkward way they revamp the fighting (a lot more defensive this time). The main character is a bit of let a down as well, at least for me. After watching the awesome trailers, I was expecting to see the coolest character yet.ShadowTuga wrote:Ok, so since we're getting a new THIEF game later this month, I thought of playing some of the "best" stealth games of recent times, minus MGS.

A lot of people say sthe same- and i am/was kinda pumped to play a Native American Assassin armed with a tomahawk and a frikkin BOW (I'm a traditional archery enthusiast, myselfDaniel Jackson wrote:If you didn't care for AC 2, then I highly doubt you'll like the later installments. I guess that Red Dead Redemption is fixing my need for a wild west open-world KICK *SQUEE* game.

Enjoyed RDD as well, especially the Zombie DLC. Minor gripe though, I thought the game could have stood more locations to interact with.ShadowTuga wrote:A lot of people say sthe same- and i am/was kinda pumped to play a Native American Assassin armed with a tomahawk and a frikkin BOW (I'm a traditional archery enthusiast, myselfDaniel Jackson wrote:If you didn't care for AC 2, then I highly doubt you'll like the later installments. Heck, I only got the anthology because I really wanted to try 3- like I said Renaissance Italy is not my kinda thing, unless it has ninja turtles on it

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Finishing up Skyrim Legendary Edition on the 360. Once again Bethesda delivers an incredible game experience that is well worth the money. It's amazing how they are able to squeeze everything in one disc (expect the DLC of course). They really stepped this game up since the last Elder Scrolls. Each cave, castle and burrow have unique features and layouts. The vast majority are pretty huge and take quite a bit of time to cover as well. The territory is enormous and easily rivals the wasteland from Fallout 3.
I didn't care for the perk layout system as much this time around and leveling up your character takes a considerable amount of time compared to the last game. The variety of spells, weapons and other offensive/defensive items make up for the leveling system though. The addition of shouts this time around was a nice bonus, but most of them I found pretty useless. There were 3 or 4 neat ones that I used a lot, but for the most part, the rest did not seem to have much effect in battle (even after finding all three words).
There are more bugs and glitches than in past ES games, so make plenty of saves or you can find yourself having to go back over a lot of ground already covered. The game froze occasionally when going through doors or during some of the more intensive battles. I had about six or seven minor quests that could not be completed, due to the game not making a map point marker or person/item appear where they were supposed to be. The most annoying glitch was during the main Legion/Stormcloak campaign. Halfway through on the retake Winterhold quest, the Legate would not issue new orders and no matter what you did, the dialogue would not pop up. Aside from those minor annoyances, another epic game for Elder Scroll fans.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Arkham Origins.
Like pizza and sex, an arkham game it's always very good, but this one... not AMAZING like City and Asylum, because there's pratically nothing new here in terms of gameplay- it's more of the same, but with a worse storyline. STILL, BATMAN ARKHAM GAME. Always VERY good.
I CAN'T WAIT for Arkham Knight, BUT those *SQUEE* (really have no clue who "they" are
) unfortunately will make me buy a PS4. Or maybe a decent gaming PC. :/
I'd like to own this whole series in one system, so if they make the first 3 games available for the current gen, i'm in. Bat-sucker that I am and all that (that sounds so wrong)
