I may pick up Arkham Origins if it's on sale on Black Friday, otherwise I'm waiting for the complete edition down the road.

Right now I'm playing:

Grand Theft Auto V
Telltale's The Walking Dead
Ico
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
The Pinball Arcade (still)

I've been playing GTA V pretty much any time I have free time (which has only been on the weekends, I work late every day so I basically watch like an hour of TV and go to bed during the week.) I wrote more about it in the GTA V thread but let me just say, it has blown me away. It has managed to recapture that feeling I had when I first played GTA III, and that is hard to do.
Be warned, Disgaea is a serious time sink!
I used to spend a LOT of time on tactical RPGs. I know I've clocked over 300 hours on Final Fantasy Tactics throughout the four or five times I've played through it. I also spent a lot of time on Ogre Battle, as well.

Good to hear. I just finished up 3 a couple of weeks ago and although it was a fun game, I was not happy with the revamped defensive combat system, confusing map and the annoying glitches.

4 is so much better. I'm loving the (mostly) open world sandbox. There are times when it blocks you off from going some places due to which memory sequence you're in, but they are few and far between. In general, there is SO much to do it's hard to focus. I'm having fun plundering ships and have gotten my ship upgraded enough to take down frigates with ease. Just about to start attacking forts so I can get my mortars working on my ship. Had fun figuring out the 'Kenway's Fleet' minigame too.

The pirate aspect was the best thing about the last game, it was a smart move for them to capitalize on that.

I'm really not sure how they make money off of it. It has had the effect to discourage me from buying any games off the PSN, as I got burned twice with games that were free a few weeks after I bought them. I now play a lot more games for a lot less money. I made a folder with just the free PS Plus games - it currently has 72 games in it, and I didn't join until a year into it.

The hubby just finished Deadly Premonition.

I didn't play it, but watched him while he played (the people from the Otherworld just creeps me out!)

Though I know how it ends, and watched him play, I may try it-- on easy mode :)

Been playing Dead Island and the follow up Riptide. Not a huge fan of Melee games, but enjoyed the open world environment and leveling up for your character. Plan to die a lot of times in both games....

Although the first game was longer, I think the second game is better. The weapons are a little more powerful this time and I liked how they switch focus to guns in the second half (or at least offer more chances to pick them up). The shotgun with the pride mod was favorite weapon. Very cool gun. Used Logan for both games so I could avoid the button mashing that you have with the other characters. His throwing ability really comes in handy once you get past the first few levels.

I also liked the aspect of importing your character with all of your special abilities and xp points from the first game. Great idea. I would love to see more games offer this option.

They have discounted prices for PS Plus members on PSN games as a means of impetus to buy, I guess. I bought the Telltale Games' Walking Dead on Halloween for like five dollars.

Also a lot of the time the game they license for free use for PS Plus members is having a sequel coming out in a few months so the company is interested in getting people interested in the franchise. I've seen a pattern of games like X-COM, Saint's Row III, Dragon's Dogma, etc. coming out a few months before their sequels are released (Dragon's Dogma has a sequel coming out, too, obviously XCOM Enemy Within and Saint's Row IV have come out already).

Then there are games like Kingdoms of Amalur that were commercial failures but are fun enough to attract people towards subscribing.

Then there are a lot of the smaller indie games which are probably more in the realm of being paid for through the actual subscription.

Then there are games like Binary Domain which I just started playing which I've never even heard of, I assume they were commercial failures and they aren't even critical darlings. It's an okay game, though.

Speaking of freebie indie games on PSN. I've been playing Knytt Underground on the Vita for the past few nights. It's really enjoyable. It has a fun throwaway story with some unique platforming elements. Lots of silly humor. It just feels like playing a game like A Boy and his Blob (the mechanics are not that similar at all, but the feel of the game is the same).

I would definitely recommend it as a fun distraction. It is very easy to play in short spurts as there is lots of backtracking of areas and lots of save points.

Still playing Rayman Origins. I am now only playing with my 3yr old son as he loves the game and doesn't want me to progress without him. He's actually surprisingly good at it. That game must have been designed by someone who had a younger child, as it is the perfect game to play with my son. When he dies he just becomes a bubble that he can float around the stage. If he comes to where my character is, then I pop the bubble and his character is back in the game. He has actually been an asset in some of the harder levels as he can pop my bubble when I die and he assists with collecting the lums (think coins in Mario). I recommend this game to anyone with toddlers that want to game.

I've started up playing through Shadowman again, having not played it for YEARS.

Put my old playstation (1) disc in the machine last week, but noticing that the game was available on Steam for £1.69, I couldn't resist a chance to play the 'best' version of the game.

So, back to Deadside for me!

I just got Dragons Crown for Ps3. It is a side scrolling beat-em-up with beautiful hand painted animation. It has an old school feel of a dungeon crawler but with added modern elements and graphics. I have to say, with everyone buying Ps4 and the price Ps3 games plummeting, this was defiantly the sleeper of the year for me. I love this game. You travel through dungeons completing quests and collecting loot. Upon leveling up you recieve skill points to customize your characters skill tree. There's six playable classes and local and co-op multiplayer. Fans of the side scrolling, hack and slash, and beat-me-up genre, but also fans of role playing games with elements like grinding for rare items, upgrading skillsets, acquiring different armors and weapons, and just interacting in a beautiful little world will love this game. Highly recommended.

Finished up Fable 2 last week. Game still holds up well despite it being 5 years old. Not as lengthy of a game as I would have liked though. By the time you finish the main campaign and all of the side quests (and that's including all of the DLC), it's still hard to get your character fully leveled. Other than that, still a nice looking and interesting game.
