Re: Harbinger #1 CGC 9.8s on eBay (past and current auctions
I almost bought one when a seller had it listed for $500 about a year ago. I had offered $460, but the seller did not accept it that price....
Who would have thought it would be at $338-$345 almost a year later.

I paid $400 for mine and thought it was a bargain at the time. You never know!

1st post updated with recently completed auctions. Also moved older records to the 4th post on the 1st page. Census went DOWN by 1

I still think that if this keeps up as it has, it will be a $250 book in the next 2 years without a movie, or likewise a significant amount of new (especially oldschool collector) readers on Harbinger. It seems to me that many people who picked up collecting comics after the 90's are possibly much less likely to pay large sums for collectible comics, and much more likely to just buy tpbs and or collect them as reader copies, not collectible copies.
For the four years between 4/2009 and 4/2009, Approximately 18.75 books were added to the census per year. This year so far seems to be right on track with that rate and perhaps even higher. With Unity likely to increase awareness of Valiant line-wide, I think things will very likely continue as they have with demand being consistent and scarcity continuing to decrease slightly ahead of demand as more people are reminded of Valiant and pull out their copies for grading.
That being said..
As merely a collectible and important Valiant comic I foresee $250 range for this over the next 2 years if there are no major changes in supply or demand. If there is a hit blockbuster movie made around that time though, well then I'd say this could quite possibly be TWD #1 all over again and 10 times that within a few months of the movie's release.

One just closed at 360.00. There are currently no copies listed on the Bay auction style. I don't see this book settling below 300.00 for any length of time. I'm not going to be surprised if this book heads up from where it's at, barring another collapse of the economy.

By the way, I'm the guy who was willing to pay the 360.00 for this book. I've always wanted a copy, and I feel like I bought low. Time will tell if I was right.

Congrats! I think you bought at a good price. I can tell you that you paid a much better price than I did and I'm still happy to have my copy.StarBrand wrote:By the way, I'm the guy who was willing to pay the 360.00 for this book. Re: Harbinger #1 CGC 9.8s on eBay (past and current auctions
One of the main reasons, I think, this book dropped so much in price recently is the number of sellers who were willing to list copies on eBay auction style. However, the most recent copy of this book listed auction style was a 7 day auction that began October 23. So, we're looking at 15 days since one was listed auction style.
The copy I won, which is the most recent auction style sale, closed at 360.00. The cheapest BIN copy at the moment is 399.99 with free shipping. If no auction style listings of this book come up soon, I won't be surprised if someone pops the BIN on that one.

Hey, what happened to the imfamous unpressed Harbinger 1 cgc 9.8? There's no longer a copy that has the word unpressed in the title, with the seller asking multiples of market price. There's no copy under completed listings with the word unpressed in it, so I'm thinking the seller edited it. Lol

We finally got another one listed auction style on the Bay. One thing we know, it shouldn't break 400.00, as there's one available on a BIN for 399.99, and another on a BIN for 425.00 OBO.
It'll be interesting to see what this one closes at.

Is there a buyer's premium there? If so we need to add that to the selling price....maraxusofkeld wrote:Two copies were just posted for sale on comiclink, one for $450 and $389.
