It will continue to trickle out get 9.8's and the price will continue to come down slightly more and more. That is unless there is ever a hit movie made. :kidaround:
I don't think we'll see this become a $200-$250 book again (I could be wrong though). This book has been at least a several hundred dollar book for years now. It is not as if this is or ever was a cheap book in 9.8. The current price has driven people to slab this boom in hopes of making money on it. Will more trickle out? Yes, but not enough to drop the price in half.

The A&A #0 gold is a different story since there were so few on the census and the demand for the book is much less. This does not apply to Harbinger #1.
This book was never a $200-250 book. There were just a few outlier sales, years ago, during the infancy of CGC.

This is a bit off topic,but i am surprised a CGC 9.8 Solar 10 isn't worth more, definitely much harder to find.

Yeah, it seems to have sold at about a 10 % discount from what this book has been selling for recently.

I'm glad you asked that. If I had the dough I wouldn't mind buying a few of these myself. I think it's a wise long-term move.

$365 IS a bargain. HOWEVER, each time a copy sells for less than it should, the average value decreases slightly.

Honestly, I think that future sales of this and other Key-Books should be sold at +5% of it's listed and/or established value so that over-time the books will continue to rise in value over the long term.

See, presently the listed price for a 9.8 Harbinger #1 is $450.00, so selling for $460.00 to $472.50 is not a massive stretch for a buyer who is already willing to shell-out $450.00. But think of it like this:

September '13 – Harbinger #1 is sold for $365.00 (about 19% less than market value). As a result of all sales during this time, say four 9.8 copies were sold in September at $450.00 (not likely, but still...), and then you had this $365.00 sale. Averaged together, the $365.00 sale basically would equate to a 4.8% loss in Harbinger #1 CGC 9.8 value for the month of September. ***NEW*** value becomes $428-$430 for an average sale in subsequent months… :(

October '13 – To compensate for this, sellers begin offering Harbinger #1 for +5% of its value (which is basically $450 once again…). Four issues are sold with an average shipping cost of $10, which creates a value increases to about $460.00.

November '13 – Four issues of Harbinger #1 are sold for +5% of its value ($460.00 x 5% ==> $483.00 + $10 shipping = $493.00)

December '13 - Four issues of Harbinger #1 are sold for +5% of its value ($493.00 x 5% ==> $517.65 + $10 shipping = $527.65)

January '14 – Four issues of Harbinger #1 are sold for +5% of its value ($527.65 x 5% ==> $554.00+ $10 shipping = $564.00)

February '14 - Two issue issues of Harbinger #1 are sold for +5% of its value ($564.00 x 5% ==> $592.25+ $10 shipping = $602.25); while two issues are sold for much lower at $527.65. The price remains the same as the sales cancel out.

Over a 5-6 month period, the value of Harbinger #1 CGC 9.8 increases by roughly +$100 per copy. True, total number of sales would not be as expressed above, but the idea is solid. You sell for +5% over market price for the key books, and as a whole the value increases.

I recognize that my math is slightly off, but if we sell issues at market price all of the time, whenever a bargain is offered the price will lower unless off-set by a slight increase in the sale price by all sellers.

Lol! I'm saying that selling prices for key-books need to increase by 5% as each time the guide price is updated.

I really wish I was smarter (I only know how to fish, f^%k, fight, and throw rocks -- Oh yea, and increase the value of comic books! :) ).

I know. Right now supply is increasing more than demand. I think recent prices are reflecting that. Maybe eventually the new readers would want to get the originals.

It's likely the normal ebb and flow of collecting. The market has been pretty stable for many years. I view it as a good time to buy. There will likely be new Harbinger fans out there, and returning ones, to drive the price slightly up again.

Who's to say what something 'should' sell for?

Honestly, I think that future sales of this and other Key-Books should be sold at +5% of it's listed and/or established value so that over-time the books will continue to rise in value over the long term.
I don't understand this point at all....why does the book have to be sold at +5% more? Why not, the same price? Why not less?
