That's the bad part about the 50 cent bin, after all these years of people digging through the books a lot of them are in less than desirable condition.
I was at a shop last week and asked the owner about a certain back issue. He went to the box he had it in and started looking. He pulled the book out I was looking for and then he pulled out one right in back of it that had been mangled up and bent.
He looked like he was going to wet his pants.

well a few weeks ago I managed to snag a NM copy of Unity 1 Plat for 1.25, it came out to less than $5 after shipping. I was pretty excited about this a) being it was my first plat/gold issue and b) it cost less than it would cost me to get an ultimate cheeseburger
then I looked around and apparently, i'm not the only one that got such a good deal, as a matter a fact I was able to look up some sales and occasionally the plats and gold go for about that price.
not sure if this was a steal or not but considering I bought my Mag #0 for $30 from TLC5555 for $30.00 I've convinced myself this was a slick deal.
A guy sold me NM copy of both Mag #0 w/ card + VVSS Rai 9 for $25.

Don't mess with the Ultimate Cheeseburger, it lays the smackdown with a combo of cheese, meat, cheese, cheese, meat, between two buns!tcolli wrote:Maybe they don't have these outside the US? boo-yah!
Actually it's from Jack in the box, I think the one by Burger King is actually even better (in terms of getting a heart attack) since it adds stuff like bacon...

Back to the burgers....i mean books...
today shopping for mylar prices I found a black gold deathmate in the 25 cents bin...funny thing is, it had 8$ sticker below the 1$ sticker and when i rooted through the higher priced back issue bin i saw a plat mag/pred for $15... Every store I go to in Ottawa the guys are so clueless...I only wish i could snag more variants.

Have you tried offering them less? Alot of dealers will sell Valiants pretty cheap to get rid of them.GGSAE wrote:Back to the burgers....i mean books...

OK, whose leg do I have to hump to get some quality pre-Unity issues? They are either gone or WAYYY overpriced in my area, and there are not even many of the overpriced ones to be found! I am beginning to think you all here on the VF site have the majority of these issues hoarded away.......
One sadly funny note - I saw a Deathmate Black Gold (why does that look strange when written out?) at one store for $35.00...
and it looks like it's been sitting there since before it actually commanded that price.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.
