It doesn't look like most lcs around me ordered any 2nd prints even though they were sold out of 1st. My lcs only ordered 3 for me and 1 was damaged.
I'll definitely be checking around to all the shops when I get a chance. Looks like these will be in high demand, I'm guessing.

Absolutely true, that's why I said "in some situations". I'm not trying to *SQUEE* on Valiant's parade when I say that, I'm just pointing out what I believe he meant by "more meaning". I don't think the amount of leftovers is an isolated event with a small amount of stores, but I'm also not saying that it's every store either.BugsySig wrote:It's been said to death, so I don't want to repeat too much, but it seems very regional and even shop to shop. Some have a stack left, some never had any or had very few in the first place. It may take some time before the ordering levels out across the board and we know for sure what the monthly sales will be like.etos45 wrote:I think he means more meaning for the book in general. If it sells out at distributor level, that's great for the publisher, but it doesn't mean much to anyone else if they are just lining the shelves (and eventually the quarter bins) at comic shops. I'm not saying this is completely the case for X-O, but it does look like it will be in some situations.BugsySig wrote:More meaning for that shop, not for the publisher.tevans333 wrote:I paid a visit to 4 lcs yesterday. It's too early to call it, so hopefully after a few more issues and also a couple more titles out, things will pick up and people will buy these. Otherwise they are headed to the bargain bin.
In regards to comparing to Saga; Saga 5th printing was on the shelf at all 4 shops. Printings 1-4 were all sold out. Sold out at the shops, not just sold out at the distribution level which has much more meaning.

I haven't checked my store yet, but I'd be surprised if he ordered more than one or two. I think you're right that there'll be high demand, but I'm guessing it's going to be more because of low print run and completionists. I'm really curious to hear what the print runs are going to be for this and the third print.Aram wrote:It doesn't look like most lcs around me ordered any 2nd prints even though they were sold out of 1st. Yes, it has more meaning for the long term sales. But like I said in the beginning, we will have to wait a few months to see what happens. But to compare to Saga, it is sold out everywhere at the retail level, not just in some regions. And that is for all of the first 4 printings as well.etos45 wrote:Absolutely true, that's why I said "in some situations". I would not be surprised if there is a X-O #1 4th Printing QR cover

I for one don't mind the different covers, it leaves no question as to what printing it is and gives the opportunity to share great unused art if available.drmirage wrote:I would not be surprised if there is a X-O #1 4th Printing QR cover![]()

I wasn't expecting to see the third print sketch cover at the comic shop today. I tried to resist but ended up double dipping and picking it up. I wish I had gotten my hands on the 2nd print instead.
