My apologies if this has been posted before (still fairly new around here), but I started following dinesh_s on Twitter, since he is the Chief Creative Officer at Valiant these days. He had these two Tweets of note recently --

11/11 - The first Valiant top secret weapon goes public in Dec. Think we may have cracked secret weapon #2 today!

11/12 - Stop by your LCS in December for a sneak peek. You should also start a pull box.

So we're only a month away from something more concrete?! I guess 2012 is just a little over a month away, but still!

(And as an aside - for anyone not on Twitter, you should be able to subscribe to someone's Twitter feed through an RSS reader if you don't want to actually sign up for Twitter or don't want to check the site every few days.)

Good catch! I'm wondering if he's talking about the Valiant sneak peek poster that is supposed to come in December?

...and Dino... I'll start my pull box just as soon as you tell me what titles I need to list! :D

I must've missed the news on the forthcoming Valiant sneak peek poster. Any specifics? Will it be mass produced for public consumption?

The only news was a post on here from Dino saying that we were getting a sneak peek poster for Christmas, which I originally assumed meant a VF type thing, but with the latest Tweets, it looks like it may be available in comic store.

Maybe like a free give away? Or just something that will be posted at a comic shop?

I think posters and cards being sent out starting in December or January would be wise. Start drumming up interest. Get a presence in shops and in readers minds.

Huh, guess I gotta figure out what my LCS would be. The place I used to buy comics from closed up shop close to a decade ago (Legends Comic).

Anyone know a good Comic Book store in the South Jersey area...? I would like to give them a heads up that I want the books so they can have them right from the start...

Making anything LCS exclusive is opposite of getting the word out.
You can start there and work out. I doubt Wal-Mart, FYE or Hot Topic would touch something from a long-defunct line of books.

Well, judging by how they handled the t-shirts, I'd say it's entirely possible these could be given out through other means as well (maybe contests, comic-cons?), but the fact is comic stores are going to be best the form of mass distribution they can use right now. How else would you do it? Maybe mail-order? I don't think that's necessarily "getting the word out", because you'd have to already be a fan to buy the poster. Although, that's even assuming that is their goal. Maybe they are just looking to get fans hyped for the upcoming release? Either way, I'm excited to see what's in store and equally excited to see what secret project #2 is. :D

I see your point, but disagree. At this point, any word is good word. You can always build up.

Social media. Facebook and Twitter (even though I am on neither).
