What video game are you currently playing?
Went to a friends for the weekend and played an unhealthy amount of Alan Wake. Good game, plenty of suspense. A move away from "survival horror" to a deeper more psychological thriller.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
I liked AW, but I thought the controls were clunky and didn't care for the "weapons". Shining the flashlight got old real quick, especially when multiple darkness crazies were surrounding you with axes and such. Many times I found myself just running and dodging my way to the next check point (and even that was a challenge), because of the lack of real firepower. I suppose that added to the feeling of desperation, but I thought they went too far with it. It's very much a story driven game and I really liked the main plot, but I was a little disappointed with the ending.ian_house wrote:Went to a friends for the weekend and played an unhealthy amount of Alan Wake. Finished up Assassin's Creed II last night. Loved the ending and can't wait to play the next chapter. Great game, but I hope they polish up some of the fighting and climbing moves in the next game. You don't notice it so much early on, but when taking on the harder guards or in the races it gets a little frustrating at times. Managed to find all but 3 feathers, but since the game is spread across such a vast area, it's not worth going back and searching for them. I am contemplating getting the DLC though, but I'll have to check out the reviews and watch the trailers first.

I heard a lot about that game. We had a Galil at work and most grown men could not identify it but I had kids coming by several times a week pointing and asking if it was a Galil.Squirrel wrote:I can't get enough of XBOX 360 - Call of Duty : Black OpsI REALLY suck, but I have fun

Odd, its one of my fav guns in the gameChiclo wrote:I heard a lot about that game. Since we been playing that and Modern Warfare 2 my son has become a gun book of knowledge! He knows allot about allot of weapons, military items and stats. Funny, he's the most passive person I have ever met in my life...He has no desire to join the military, they just intrigue him.
I used to hate first person shooters, but this game is great.
Not a fan of Modern Warfare series as I like the older weapons more...WW2 is my fav war in history

Lol hey Squirrel, you Valiant signature and its doubled vowels in the last word(s) create the temptation to read and pronounce it as "noon".

I gave up Black Ops after prestige 5 or 6 ... the lag was just causing too much hair loss. I have a stellar connection to the Internet and I would time after time find lag in the game and again, it was driving me bat *SQUEE* crazy. The final straw for me was just running and all of a sudden I died ... I was like WTF?! I went back and watched the game replay and I totally ran through someone's napalm strike but in the game I was quite a ways off. Not the worst thing in the world but it just all added up and the la or crappy game servers were enough for me.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Just a small FYI..players are actually the servers, they use a piggy back system so they don't have to host all 500,000+ players that are on at one time...I just prestige for the 2nd time today...I was playing when my son brought it over for the weekend and just bought it myself a month ago when it was $10 off and included a map pack for free!!! I am seriously contemplating the new Zombie Pack Rezurection because of it being an exclusive zombie pack. The online play is too competitive for me so the zombie levels offer something more playable for me... Now if I could get some dudes together for some zombie killin' that would be another story.

Is that a game itself or an add-on DLC type thing?Knightt wrote:I am seriously contemplating the new Zombie Pack Rezurection because of it being an exclusive zombie pack. Just started Deus Ex Human Revolution on the PC. only through the tutorial and first main mission but seems very cool. Awesome setting, ultra cinematic and loads of different ways to go about your tasks and looks pretty tasty.

Looks like an awesome game. I'll probably get it at some point (have a stack of other games to finish first).

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Went ahead and bought the DLC for Assassin's Creed II. Battle of Forli is the first DLC and is very short composed mainly of just fighting your way through to certain points. There are a few decent cut scenes, but the entire mission lasts about an hour. It also sets the story up for the second DLC. It was fun, but since it's so short, I'm not sure it's worth picking up even at only 320 MS points.
Bonfire of the Vanities is the second DLC and it is more along the lines of the main game. It has 9 assassination missions and some of them are pretty tricky to pull off. Most require you to pick off your target without getting noticed by the guards (and there are a lot of guards). There are two versions of the DLC. One just has the 9 missions (320 MS points) while another has an additional 3 secret Templar Tombs to explore and costs 560 MS points. I picked up the full version and thought it was well worth the extra $$$. All in all I think the second DLC will last anywhere from 5-8 hours depending on how much trouble you have with a few of the harder assassinations.
