Waiting, waiting, waiting
I am still waiting for the books I dropped off at San Diego Comic-con over 2 months ago, which I think it ridiculous. They gave me an estimate of 40 days, which we are way past, but they know damn well how many books they average during comic-con and how long these will take.
They obviously lie to get people's business and I think what they do is BS. I won't be submitting again during comic-con, if at all !

I did ... their response was "we had over XXXXX amount of books submitted at comic-con so our response time is running 3-4 weeks behind" ... that's the other thing. If you are that far behind, I shouldn't have to call to find out where my books are, they should call or email and let their customers know. It reflects badly on their company IMO.
My point is that they do comic-con every year and have a pretty good idea how many books they average from year to year and how long it takes to process. They obviously are BSing to get your business when they say 30-40 days. If they told you it would be 3 months, you probably wouldn't submit!
This was my first time submitting so if I ever do it again, I will take the "submit and forget about it" approach.

The other lesson is don't submit during convention season without expecting a delay. When they take the show on the road it really messes things up. Happens every year.
March/April/May is better.
CGC states somewhere in their policies that the only guaranteed turnaround times are for the high end services. Everything else is best effort.

Agreed. Sounds like they need to work harder on their customer relation skills.Crow331 wrote:I did ... their response was "we had over XXXXX amount of books submitted at comic-con so our response time is running 3-4 weeks behind" ... that's the other thing. Why would they bother? Are you going to use PGX? Really? They have a monopoly and know it, and they have become too much an industry standard to have felt a need for improvement.Daniel Jackson wrote:Agreed. I did the same thing, only mine was around the 7th of September. I just got mine back this week, so it takes a while. Ask the owner if there's been any news from CGC about delays. Make sure they even got the books or if they've been sent and maybe lost in the post. Good luck.booted wrote:I dropped off 3 comics at a local comic shop in early August. Store owner was going to send away that week or following. Told me to check again in Nov, still not there.

They have a virtual monopoly and they know it. Nuff said.Daniel Jackson wrote:Agreed. If they took time out to email everyone that was waiting, that would just delay things even more and cause you even more hassle.Daniel Jackson wrote:Sad way to run a business though.IMJ wrote:They have a virtual monopoly and they know it. Best bet is to just expect the worst and then you can only be pleasantly surprised. I use this philosophy with pretty much everything.
