Glad you liked it. Stu added lots of cool little things, like Sniper. I think the more you look at the story the more the little things come into focus.iwantvaliantcomics wrote:Just finished reading my copy last night. I thought it was great! It ended really strong.
Favorite moment: Sniper! I did not expect that.
What's going on with the Yvel Guichet piece in the back?
I'm very happy I bought this! Great work guys!
The back up story is a preview of Man of God. What did you think of it?

Cool, we wanted that to bridge into why Trent could hurt him too: Anything that had a direct analog in the "real world" can damage big bad.iwantvaliantcomics wrote:Oh yeah! You schedule the release of your book like you work for VEI.dellamorte wrote:'iwantvaliantcomics wrote:It's great! I'm ready for more.dellamorte wrote:What about the story? I actually have one other question regarding the Playing God story. I noticed that many of the characters were not mentioned by name ("Eternal Warrior" was called "Gilad," and "Sting" was just mentioned as "Peter.")
Is this due to VEI owning copyrights to the names? I was under the impression that copyrights and/or trademarks prevent specific names or brands being used only on a cover or packaging?
Just curious.
I am going to re-read this story at some point this week. Thanks again, gents

Good question. It has nothing to do with VEI or any copyright issues. I just tried to be faithful to the characters and the way that they spoke and interacted with each other.JonesyAZ wrote:I actually have one other question regarding the Playing God story. It's been a while but I don't recall anyone actually calling Gilad "The Eternal Warrior" in any of the books. He was called the Fist and Steel and a few other things but usually just by one of the Geomancers.
While a character like Zephyr would throw out the super hero title every time, because that's just who she was, nobody is going to call Clay "Geomancer" as his name. Just as you wouldn't call Gunny "Armorine".
I'm sure I screwed some stuff up but for the most part our Geomancers kept me honest. We tried very hard to craft a story that would act as a tour through the Valiant universe and introduce as many of the characters as we could. The reason you don't see X-O or Bloodshot is that we were asked to stay away from them by VEI. It would have been great to include them, I think we could have done some really cool stuff. Oh well.
I hope at least a bit of that ramble answered the question.
It would have been nice to see someone use the characters.slym2none wrote:dellamorte wrote:The reason you don't see X-O or Bloodshot is that we were asked to stay away from them by VEI. It would have been great to include them, I think we could have done some really cool stuff. Oh well.

How long ago were you given VEI's blessing?
