Picked up Assassins Creed 2 for a tenner. Only played about an hour but seems pretty good. Not sure if its going to have lasting appeal but I reckon I can blast through it, possibly entirely over the weekend. I've played an hour and a half and its given me 9% complete.

The one thing I like about the game is that is doubles as a very decent history lesson AND the ability to use your enemies weapons. This game #2 has more emphasis on fighting and the voice acting is top notch.

I've been playing:

Crackdown 2
Lara Croft: Underworld (surprisingly good)

And this weekend will be putting time into Darksiders, Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2 and Alan Wake.

I think I will pick up Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. It has been FOREVER since I played that.

I really enjoyed that game. I think the critics were a little harsh on Underworld. My only real complaint is that the game should have been longer.

They have an add-on now... DLC for 800 microsoft points and a 1 gig download where you play as Lara's doppleganger. The doppleganger is 'meaner' and a lot stronger, faster and more capable of getting through the game through sheer physical power. Forget the pistols, she can smash her way through monsters etc and run REALLY fast, jump REALLY far. This add hours onto the game as well as another DLC where Lara goes back to the ashes of the Manor to find some really cool stuff deep under the rubble. Maybe you might like to look into it ?

I just have the Wii version, but if I had a 360, I would definitely be getting that. Sounds very cool.

I am not a Lara Croft console fan by any means but I could not pass up the game at $8.00. I place the game in the console and then sit back and say, 'wow, that is a pretty damn good game....' (9 HOURS LATER) The time went by very fast and was very enjoyable. It was the first time I had see Lara battling more than just tigers and spiders, there were actual supernatural creatures... all this stuff about Thor's Hammer in the middle of some (can't remember the name) jungle. Great stuff and enjoyable game play.

I picked up Command and Conquer: Tiberium Wars for the 360 today for $7.00 and it looks darn good. I guess I had to pick this up (in the shadows of Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2 etc) because of the new Starcraft II coming out this month for PC (damn, will I have to upgrade my PC to play it ? SHOULD I even be playing it ? I so many other console games to go through, comics to bag/board, stuff to mail out... it is so busy but how do you put off a game that blew you away over 10 years ?

I didn't really play much of the first, just at a mates. Wasn't that keen on it, didn't seem like alot to do. There seems to be quite alot more in this one though and the voice acting, as you say, is ace. I'm not fully convinced on the old narrative at the moment but sure I just need a little more.

The game played SLOOOOOW for me. Maybe I need to give it more time and patience but with the fast rate of play these days, well... to stalk someone for six city blocks only to FUBAR the op and try it again can be frustrating. But in the second game you can duke it out with regular soldiers, take their own weapons and use them against them. Beautiful game but it had me for two nights, then I moved on.

Game Spot had a Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal this weekend and seeing as how my 14 year old son gave me a bit of a hand during my 12 hour on the roof trying to fix the swamp cooler on Friday, I took advantage of GS deal and picked him up his very own copy of Fable II. And along with that I picked up a Wii Aliens and Monsters Bowling for Alyssa, Avatar (James C's movie) and Combat Aces 6: Fires of Liberation for me. I rented Avatar a while back to try the Military side of it and liked it but had to send it back when I got to the Navi.

I remember playing the Combat Aces 6 demo when it came out and was pretty impressed but I thought this to just be a fighter jet simulator with some story but this has all the characteristics of a simulator (more arcadish though) and a FANTASTIC story, great cut scenes... yes, it is from Bandai but to my surprise it is quite enjoyable.

And I just could NOT pass it up when it became available on Xbox Live Arcade... Death Spank. Talk about a hilarious button mashing, super corny 'hero' (yes called Death Spank, a character created by designer Ron Gilbert) talk and just all out fun. Even though I had a 12+ hour day working on the roof, I still played it until 2 am yesterday. Wow, some fun stuff off Xbox Live Arcade.

Another CHEAP Indy game that I picked up is Helo Hero. A VERY basic 2D side scrolling helicopter game. Left stick guides you left and right, right stick when pushed up increases altitude (increases fuel consumption) and when pushed down decreases altitude. Well you have to go rescue people and take them to the hospital, either one at a time or load them up (which then effects the performance of your rotary winged aircraft), then you get other choppers. Right now I have a cargo transport picking up equipment and taking it back to the job site. I have to lower and then raise a winch after I attach my hook onto the equipment. Bottom line, HOURS of fun for about 240 MS points. Death Spank on the other hand was 1,200 MS Points but both are SO worth it.

Dude, that just made me horny.

I've been playing the beta and SAD to say, I need a couple system upgrades if I am to play the game in it's GLORY. I just do not think I am going to be able to swing that. I have put more effort into consoles and had given up on PC (even with games like The Witcher out there) games that I have lapsed into becoming outdated. I start the game and it warns me that the program had to turn down or even off certain graphic aspects in order to play Starcraft II.

I heard something funny just the other day about some task being difficult and the guy said something like, "Calculating operating costs for an Aviation Battalion ? Man, that is harder than trying to win a game of Starcraft against a basement full of Koreans." About three of us got the joke, I had to leave the room and wipe my eyes, I was laughing so hard tears were coming out of my eyes.

Starcraft II is in HIGH anticipation but I think that I will not be able to play it until I can afford to upgrade my graphics card (to 1 gig) and get a really nice processor. BUT the problem with PCs is that 'well does my motherboard allow me to put 'that' piece of hardware on it. OOPS, no it does not, so get a new motherboard but then who knows what other components will not work after that, new power supply, different type of slot for your graphics card...." GAHHHHHH it is so frustrating, so consoles took that heartache away and replaces it with crying yourself softly to sleep every night because you can't stay up until 4 am playing Starcraft II OR Diablo III which will follow months later.

Just got NCAA Football 11 ... I love that game every fricking year. Went through a Road to Glory career with a QB at Oregon State (highest ranked school that would start me coming in) and a year of Dynasty as, ahem, Alabama.

Two-minute quarters and you can get through a season in one (long) sitting.

Also digging Hot Shots Tennis for PSP. Goofy but fun.

I have an Nvidia GE Force 7800 GTX... I know I can slave another to it, maybe that would fix my problem. At the time, it was a hot $hit card but I just a 1 GIG card the other day and SCII has a pulldown on the graphics menu to use a 1 gig card. :!:

I mean if I am going to spend the money to play it, I want to see all the bells and whistles, ya know ? But all this damn upgrading.

I will have to call Dell (I have an XPS series computer) to see if my motherboard will support what kinds of upgrades. I think it would just be a processor and the video card(s). Would LOVE to have a 1 gig card though.

It is a hard switch between console and PC and comics and school and boom boom with the little woman and work and house maintenance and comic inventory and buying new OLD comics yadda yadda... geez, where is the love yo ?

It gets easier after going through a few of the challenges. Boost up that power first to at least 70 and then do a balance of putting and swing accuracy.

I really liked that game, too.

I am playing the free version of Angry Birds on my iPhone. Great game.

And a tiki game where you knock down blocks without the tiki falling on the ground. Also fun.

Golf Games. I always enjoy them but haven't played this. I used to love Mario Golf on the N64 and I really like the golf game on Wii Sports.

Yeah I've noticed power is pretty important. I've got that up to about 55 at the mo with most other things between 30-45. It's getting alot easier as I go along. :thumb:
