I just walked into the first door I saw that said "BAR" on it. Dinesh liked the hot little Dominican waitress so we stayed.
I thought it was a good experience for some of our central and midwest boardmembers that were with us.

I would for sure be up for hanging out sat. night. I'd love to go back to that bar that i've been to the last 2 times i went to a convention there in NY. Seams like all the comic nerds go there during convention time.mjm00014 wrote:So is anyone meeting up on Saturday?
I'm going to the show and would definately be interested in meeting some fellow board members. Shoot me a PM and I'd be more than happy to give you my cell #. Or, perhaps another group dinner?
Let me know,
- Mike

PM being sent.

Hey Guys...
Not much to tell really...
the show was slow, probably due to weather...woogie, zeph, mac and myself had dinner at a local spot on friday.
saturday was also slow, Jim showed up to sign, Jay Jay and Freddy (her main squeeze) suggested we all go to the Cowgirl for some Texan dinner. Zeph, BroJ, Rufus and Chain seemed to all love the dinner. Hey Chain, how was the pecan pie?
sat. eve and sun we started saying our goodbyes. I must admit, when I see you guys leave I do feel sad.
the following boardmembers showed up...
Johnnyrnr- thanks for the "Man-Thing" #1 laugh..
Rufus- thanks for dinner on saturday at The Cowgirl, very nice of you.
Chain- thanks for always being there for help
woogie- thanks for dinner friday night, you have original art coming to u when I speak to MAC
Zeph- definitely great to have finally met you. thanks for hangin' and making it a fun weekend.
BroJ- having you join us is always a pleasure. Feb will be fun at the Javits.
mjm- I was disappointed I didn't get to meet up with you...
all in all the company was my highlight.

It was fun meeting up with all the boardies and other regulars I enjoy seeing at these things.
Here is one very, very cynical take on the show by Evan Dorkin, however:

Everything he says is true, but I'll still be back next year despite it all!

Well if that's the case then Houston should have good NY food.xodacia81 wrote:There are actually a few decent "Texan" places in NYC. Besides...Houston was founded by a pair of New Yorkers.Chiclo wrote:I was about to make a disparaging remark about Texan dining in NY, but the pecan pie won me over.

Thanks to everyone for making Saturday so fun. Sorry I weaseled out of the poker on Saturday night, guys. I was just too damn tired. I hadn't slept well the night before, and really didn't get caught up on sleep until last night.
It was great hanging out with the guys and going out to dinner with JJ and Freddy. They are really nice people. I also got the chance to ask Jim Shooter some questions and I had him sign my Adventure Comics #346, he's a real nice guy.
I'm really going to have to try to get to the Javits show in February.
