I was gonna go in November but decided to take the family to Florida for a week right about that time.

I have my sites set on the Javitz in early Feb. The last couple of times I've been to the National the rooms were pretty expensive all over the city as it is the first real weekend of the Christmas shopping season and all the stuff is set up for people to see, skating rinks, rock center, ect.

February will be much more reasonable, but, it will be cold.

undecided, last year I was asked if I wanted to share a room with some of the guys, so it worked out good, but I don't think I'd be able to afford it if I had to pay for my own room. :o

I'd really like to make it, but I doubt I'll be able to do it til next year, and only if things go right. The April convention is more possible, at least this year.

Rest up. Sounds to me like you've gone above and beyond with these conventions.

Are you still doing that thing you posted about before? Something about a contest to have lunch with Shooter? Let me see if I can find the old thread.

EDIT: here's the thread:

Yep, after seeing him in action last year and all the bull he had to put up with from the promoter, it looked pretty tiring (if not downright aggravating).

sorry to hear that, man.

Well, if there's not going to be anything Valiant related officially (other than a bunch of guys going to the show) and apparently no underground comix guests this time, I probably won't be going to NY this time. Not sure if I would have been able to afford it, anyway.

Awesome . . . I really haven't met anyone from the board face to face. Maybe we could setup a "meet and greet". I will next big show, however these next couple months are going to be busy at work so my time is limited.

KARAOKE???

Seriously, you need one of us old-timers to show you that Tiki bar we all sat at one Saturday night in 2006.

Image

I still can't believe that was almost three years ago.....

:D

That place was somewhere around 8th and 38th I think, it was quite classic.
Nice pick.

Well, you "found" it - and it was what, 5 minutes' walk from the Penn?
