From what I understand, DC is looking to take their original comics stories, animate them, and offer them digitally. Sounds like the stuff CrossGen did years ago. The first chapter of Watchmen is available online:

It's not exactly the same as Marvel's DCU site, but it may be a stepping stone to offering comics digitally the way Marvel and/or GIT Corp do.

You're right about the Marvel license. Actually, they're releasing the Archie stuff (there's a Bronze Age Archie collection out now), and they're supposed to release a Star Trek set soon.leonmallett wrote:GIT Corp did some digital versions of Marvel books (DVD ROM) if I remember rightly, but I am sure their liscence has lapsed.
