The only way to get from the Sheraton to the trolley is to take the hotel shuttle to the airport and then take a bus to the trolley station.

That means that I'm left to depend on the schedule of all three to determine how late I'm able to stay in the game. :thumb:
I'm sure someone won't mind taking you back to your hotel, for a fair price for gas.

If you leave the game before you're out, you forfeit your chips and stake in the game.

They're not free :thumb:

My hotel is far, far away from the Sheraton. A taxi is cost prohibitive when you're on a budget, heh. :thumb:

I'm staying here:

Days Inn SeaWorld / Airport
3350 Rosecrans St
San Diego, CA 92110

If I remember correctly its south of the convention center, roughly 11 miles away? I still havent figured out the transportation options yet. How much are cabs charging??

Mota, walking around downtown SD really isn't that perilous. As stated above, the Gaslamp is where all the nightclubs and restaurants are. Tons of people and very little crime. I've walked from the ballpark to my house(north of downtown) dozens of times without any problems. If you're not adverse to walking it's kind of pleasant. Besides, downtown will be full of Klingons and the like. Not really the mugging type.

I don't know if I will be driving to the poker game or taking a cab so I can drink. I'm sure I can figure out a way home for you even if that means my wife picks us up. The downtown area isn't all that big.

That said, let me know where you are staying and I can work something out. It wouldn't be a Valiant Fans Validated Poker Night without you.

Or, you can hop on the back of my motorcycle and we can go cruising.

No clue, but I'm sure they're not cheap.

I'm staying at the

Town and Country Resort and Convention Center
500 Hotel Circle, North San Diego, CA 92108

5.3 miles from the convention center according to Google.

You are about 5 miles NW of the convention center. Definitely a cab ride, I'd guess $10-$15.

I was feeling more relaxed about it until you mentioned Klingons, lol

I like to walk. I'm fat but I walk eveywhere I go since I don't have a car, heh. Walking is good, and I liked to walk in SD, it was peaceful and relaxing. It is a beautiful town (I'd like to move there, but without a job...).

Yes, that is the term.

You are way too far to walk. I'm guessing that you will be downtown all day for the con, and then meeting up with everyone that night. If you don't plan on going back to the hotel in the mean time and can get to poker, I can get you home no problem.

And without offering EVERYONE else on the board a ride, at the end of the night, I will try to help out as many people I can. My wife drives a Civic so it's a 5 seater tops.

Yeah, that's the plan. And thanks :thumb:

I'm taking the trolley from the hotel (which is next to the Fashion Valley station) to the convention center and stay there all day for the four days of the con.

I'll probably be in the convention center from 10 am till 2-3 pm, depending on the panels' schedules.

On Thursday, we'll see what happens. I mean, what's the plan, do we get together at the convention center or the lobby of the hotel?

We'll have to decide on a time to start the poker game and probably meet at the hotel, be it the lobby or the room.

We can have a secret knock.

It's going to be a good time fo sho.

It will be tough to get everyone's name/screen name straight though. Name tags are kind of lame, but I'm terrible with names-let alone two per person.
