I have no idea where the hotel is. BTE?
Cool :thumb:

Any idea on the times?

I would vote for pretty close to right after the Con ends. Unless we are going to go out for food instead of bringing it in.
I vote for bringing it in.

BYOM.

Bring your own meal, because otherwise we all have to agree on what we want to eat.

Um.

Well, the ante will be big blind. ;)

It will be tournament style - one buy in, probably $20, once your chips are gone, you're out. 80/20 1st/2nd.
I don't drink, so no bar for me, so if you guys go I'd meet you later at the room or something, heh (not a bar person, heh).

How long into the night do you envision this lasting?
As long as people want to hang out.
And is the hotel where you're proposing to do it close to a trolley station? Mine is and that's pretty much my only transportation there, heh. I ask so that I can plan accordingly since the trolley does have a schedule.

I don't want to loose too much since I'm going to Vegas after the con, heh
Loose? Well, I want you to loose your wallet and take money out of it, so you can LOSE it to me. :thumb:

As far as WHERE it is, I dunno yet.

I'm all for the bar idea, btw. The more you drink the better, as alcohol dulles the senses.

As the only sober player in the game, I'm sure to be the big winner

Meh. I'll just start speaking half in spanish and half in english. You won't know what I'm saying or what I'll say and that will confuse you further.

Ok the hotel that I have with Dr. Solar & Zeph is called the

Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina

The address for those wondering is

1380 Harbor Island Drive
San Diego, CA 92101

According to the paperwork I have it's three miles from the convention center.

We can decide that night, but when I play tournaments with friends it goes like this:

$20 buy in.

20 white chips worth $25 apiece
10 red chips worth $100 apeice
5 blue chips worth $500 apeice

Total value $4000 worth of chips

We start with blinds at 25/50 and double the blinds every 10 or 15 minutes. That way it eventually forces action from the short stacks and keeps the game moving.

It's a pretty basic way to set up a tournament, but again we can decide that night. Just my $0.02

I like to make it simpler.

Everyone is in for $20.

divide up the chips evenly reguardless of color; each chip is worth one.

It just makes it easier.

Then the blinds can be 1/2, then move up to 2/4 (or 2/3) when the first dude is out, or set a time limit.

I just like each chip as 1, makes it easier. But whatever, I am looking forward to just chillin with my homies.

Nah, chips have to be worth different amounts. 1/2/5 ratio works the best.

Every table seems to have their own way - my poker buddies always had 50¢, $1, $5, and $10 chips.

Using that rule, if you lose you have to pay 4000 dollars? lol It doesn't sound right.

I thought it be more like 20 dollars to play with penny or quarter blinds.

Assigning the chips a higher value gives you more 'money' to play with. You only stand to lose your buy-in, be it $5, $20, or $10,000.

It also controls the amount of chips on the table. The way I had it set up(not we have to do it that way) gives everyone 35 chips(of different values) to start with, which is a manageable amount.

This also may be too confusing to discuss over a message board. Who started talking about this anyway?????
