Isn't it a little strange to use a ball-point pen? You would think he would use something else to auto that book. I could be wrong.

Pens are used a lot nowadays to make marks on paper that can be read by others . . .

You can check wikipedia if you need any other information . . .

BWS signed some stuff for me once ... he signed three comics with scribbles and signed three cards with "BWS."

One of the books was Bloodshot 1, and Don Perlin had already signed the cover. BWS grimaced and said "What the hell is Don Perlin doing signing my books??!!"

Hmmm...
They look SIMILAR....but they're not quite the same.

1. Have you ever seen BWS ever sign something with THREE lines? I haven't.

2. Look at the flow of the last "circle" of the last "name"...in the one we KNOW is BWS (the Unity, the Solar) it's a single line. In the A&A #0, there's a most definite down stroke, stop, upstroke, with very little "loop." Even though the SHAPE of letters may change in a person's sig, the STROKE characteristics almost NEVER do.

3. Look at the "loops" of the bottom "sig"...in the A&A they look like "WWWW" There's no DIRECTION change in the loops. In the Unity example, notice the TILT of the "W" (to the right) followed IMMEDIATELY by the rest of the "loops" (which tilt to the LEFT.) In the A&A, they BARELY change direction.

4. Count the "loops"...in the Unity, there are FIVE (two tilt to the right, 3 tilt to the left)..on the A&A, there are SEVEN, plus a skinny "0".

Now...these are just diagnostics. There are more. IN MY OPINION, I would say the A&A, for the reasons listed above, is a forgery. But, without talking to the man himself, there's no guarantee either way. The A&A could very well be authentic...I don't BELIEVE it is, but it very well could be.

So....

If you really look, the first line of the Unity sig does resemble "Windsor".

Those loops and curls on the top line of the A&A 0 sig look like they are copying BWS's Windsor.

Why would Barry Windsor-Smith have a three line sig with the first line reading "Windsor"?
