Valiant Characters Compared to other Companies Character
Recently I saw an auction for some Bloodshot books and in the description it decribed Bloodshot as the "Wolverine" of the Valiant Universe. This got me to thinking how would we describe other Valiant characters to other Company characters.
Could comparisons be drawn between:
X-O to Iron Man?
Archer to Green Arrow?

More like a cross between The Punisher & Wolverine.

Yeah I agree, I agree with moonchild that Bloodshot is more like a cross between Punisher and Wolverine.Tim Petty wrote:Armstrong - Pip the Troll
Bloodshot - Punisher definitely
Th Bloodshot one is the only one that jumps out. I think that's what I like about the Valiant characters. They don't really reference much of anything. They kind of stand on their own.

Well, Uzzi the clown was the Punisher--same origin, same "costume," etc.Tim Petty wrote:Bloodshot - Punisher definitely
Compared to Bloodshot, the Punisher is a clown.
That's what made Valiant so cool. Their characters were pretty unique. The Punshier was all about retribution; Bloodshot was all about redemption. Internally, he was more Peter Parker (redemption of past wrongs) combined with Ben Grimm (self-loathing and self-consciousness about his transformed appearance) than Frank Castle.
Bloodshot was so much more than a guy with a gun. I don't read "guys with guns" funnybooks, but for the Bloodshot runs.
BoH
Just one fanatic's opinion.

The pre-unity X-O struck me as a cross between Hulk and Iron Man.DarqueArcher wrote:X-O to Iron Man?
Of course, Harada and his Eggbreakers are very similar to Professor X and his X-Men.
Solar reminded me of Reed Richards a lot.

I remember the post you are talking about . . .magnusr wrote:I remember someone talking about a list like this found in the Valiant offices. And I think there was some talk about an underwater guy also.Chiclo wrote:Valiant needed an underwater guy.

Like they made a list of Marvel and DC big heroes and had the Valiant character that best filled that spot . .
If I remember correctly I thought they decided against an underwater guy, like they didn't want an aquaman . . .

you know, I've been thinking about that statement this entire thread. I used to really like Green Arrow...never in a million years would I have compared Archer to GA...outside of them both using some form of bow/arrow I fail to see any comparison at all...I've always thought of GA as a poorman's batman...with some comic relief thrown in...Phantom wrote:Archer as Green arrow?
