I like back issue hunting, and I miss it too, but it's a chore, heh, specially when resorces like dime, quarter, or dollar bins don't exist here.Elveen wrote:ManofTheAtom wrote:It's lucky, that's what.AaronJ wrote:Yeah with different covers.ManofTheAtom wrote:They're the same?AaronJ wrote:Why is issue pink and orange the same?
*phew*
Whats with that??
I'm getting too old to go back issue hunting, heh.
I am ADDICTED to back issue hunting.
(having said that, I was lucky that the people at ComiCastle never changed the prices on the old Defiant comics. At current exchange rates I did pay little under a dollar for each of them).

No, no, no. At meetings you are supposed to say: "My name is Elveen and I am ADDICTED to back issue hunting."Elveen wrote:ManofTheAtom wrote:It's lucky, that's what.AaronJ wrote:Yeah with different covers.ManofTheAtom wrote:They're the same?AaronJ wrote:Why is issue pink and orange the same?

I appreciate your need to tell me that. Hey how is the collection coming along? Should I start packing up the HARDCorps books?Dr. Solar wrote:I gargled tea as I wrote this post.ThrillKillWill wrote:I don't ever want to read another post where two men discuss what they can gargle and what they can do while gargling.yardstick wrote:yeah, I finally had to take mine down off the bathroomwall next to the mirror. too much splatter...Dr. Solar wrote:I think I have a Deathmate Orange (at least according to my inventory record), but I might have gotten some peanut butter on it.yardstick wrote:'specially when trying to read my Deathmate Orange...Dr. Solar wrote: It is harder to gargle.

Oh boy . . . I'm feeling a bit ill. My wife found a box of 15 of these. I've had 'em for quite a while. Since I'm not a Defiant collector . . . didn't think much of it.
Well, she is an "anti-clutter bug." (I'm constantly hiding my Valiants from her).
Anyway, I told her that I really didn't care much for them. She threw them away. I never even thought to look and see if there was anything "valianty" in there.
In fact . . . double

I am missing about 40 books still, all of them later valiant. My collection is complete up to Chaos effect (though I still need a Harby 1 WITH coupon).ThrillKillWill wrote:I appreciate your need to tell me that. Hey how is the collection coming along? Should I start packing up the HARDCorps books?

Yeah same story the pink one has the Shadowman/Grifter "face" cover and the orange is an action scene with Shadowman/Grifter/Archer on the cover if I remember correctly (it's buried on the top shelf right now so I can't dig it out.ManofTheAtom wrote:They're the same?AaronJ wrote:Why is issue pink and orange the same?

(I remember paying $5 for that from the old guy at my LCS as well as him hunting up orange for me in the comic defense mylar package, and I got swindled on that too....

Still wondering how much of that Deathmate story got edited out and left on the cutting room floor since I've seen other promo pieces that aren't in anything except for the stuff I have them on...
