Deathmate Orange

Post by Elveen »

So what is the deal with this book?

I saw Bro J's post about it being hard to find. I just saw one but I passed on it cause it was just loose pages. (It looks like it was cut from the Previews book. Is this the only way that they come?

Can someone drop some knowledge on Deathmate Orange for me. Thanks.

Unfortunately, that's it. You either store the entire issue of Previews or you carefully remove the Orange (and Plasm 0) and bag/board the loose pages since these aren't stapled.

I had one in my hands for $1, but I didn't take it....

I guess I made a bad decision.

I didn't know it was that special. If I saw a book with a tore up spine I probably wouldnt pay a buck for it either

There was not even a spine, just pages razor-bladed out of the Previews. In fact, part of the "P" from Previews was cut out. But all the pages were there.

Here is a question.

Can you have a "mint" copy if it is out of the Previews?

I got mine a while back.

A guy had an auction that included a Deathmate Orange and Magnus 18, the last Magnus issue I needed to finish my run from 0 to 50. His auction ended without a bid (wanted something like $15 with $10 shipping, if I recall) and I sent him a line asking if he would take $5 for the two issues. He said he'd sell them both to me for $5 shipped (not what I was asking, but I went for it) and I got them without a problem.

It's not the only copy I've seen on eBay, but it's the only copy I've seen in person. Every so often a Previews pops up with those still in tact.

A friend of mine had one and just asked if I wanted it, I said no and he left it here anyways. I had no idea it had the Deathmate orange in it until about three weeks ago, when I was thumbing through it on the the way to the dumpster. Whew, that was a close one.

The orange book was no big deal for me since I got it back in the day. Somehow I missed the pink one when it first came out though and it took me awhile to find that one.

Is that Plasm #0 the same as the cards?

Plasm #0 and Dark Dominion #0 are the only Defiant comics I'm most likely never going to find.

And btw

DEATHMATE ORANGE?!?!

Urhg, I thought I had it all.

Previews June 1993

There's a note about "free comics" Plasm #0 and Deathmate (Orange) at the top of the cover.

Both books are "bound inside", so they should be in any copy
of this book as long as the previous owner(s) didn't rip them out.

Believe I have a box of these Previews in storage with all inserts. The Shooter interview alone is worth having. If anyone is interested in one, pm me.
