We have drastically different speeds of box perusal. To be fair, I spend as much time as necessary in the 50% off or 5 for $25 TPB booths. But I had a grand ole spending spree in the Torpedo booth's dollar boxes, and then in their mid to low grade silver age boxes marked 80% off on Sunday. Did not score any of the three Marvel Masterworks that were at the top of my list (followed by Galactus sketches and VVSS's which I also got neither of). But I got a Matt Groening sketch (of Homer, he wouldn't do Comic Book Guy), which I did not think I had a chance at, so in my mind, I win! (Also got an Ellis autograph, but no insult, so I consider that a draw, and Romero was charging for autographs, so that made me sad since I decided to skip him(I would have paid if I had something cool enough to be wall worthy, but all that I brought for him was the Elite Edition of Night of the Living Dead)).betterthanezra wrote:Unlike years past at SDCC it only took a day or so to go through all the comic boxes there at the Comic section of the show has really shrunk down it's sad.Brother J wrote:The times I went to Wizard World Chicago, I didn't bother standing in any of those lines to meet someone or for whatever other reason. That being said I did find some great deals this year even though they were few and far between.

Boy, I always thought SD was supposed to be the mother of all comic shows. So maybe the poster who mentioned Wizard World Chicago as a better comic show than SDCC knew what they were talking about...betterthanezra wrote:Unlike years past at SDCC it only took a day or so to go through all the comic boxes there at the Comic section of the show has really shrunk down it's sad.Brother J wrote:The times I went to Wizard World Chicago, I didn't bother standing in any of those lines to meet someone or for whatever other reason. I do intend to go to SDCC at least once in my life. My main interest is the underground comix sellers. All the biggest UG sellers have attended SDCC for years and there was a bunch of neat stuff that happened this year, including some people from the comicspriceguide underground comix message board getting together.

Ryan was there and ready to write up a report on VALIANT, but the fine folks at VEI decided not to make an announcement; the one they made was not worth writing an entire article. Another missed chance, I thought. The entire comic world either at SDCC or reading about it online and they decided to create a minute ripple of a buzz with the announcement that there is "A" project in the works in the future, but that's all we can say. Very dissapointing.
