I was hoping for a panel report on newsarama, but alas no.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

I attended the panel - it was very cool!

Bob Hall was signing, and signed a few of the Harbinger ads for me as well. I don't think they mentioned anything about Harbinger Hardcovers being given out, but dang that would have been sweet!

Another artist that I saw at one of the booths was Ryan Benjamin, who was also kind enough to sign some copies of the TUROK 2: Seeds of Evil magazine, and did a sketch of ZERO (Shadowman) for $20. I looked for Mat Broome who was supposed to be having a forum, but had no luck.

There was NEVER a mention of the actual HC being given-out at SDCC...

The dust jacket cover art to have Bob Hall sign...yes.

According to the Valiant Rep that was there Chip Carter they should have one finally in hand sometime this week for themselves.

I went Sunday and he was there. Tell you what, he is easily the nicest guy I have ever physically met in the industry. Sighned my books and talked with me about the lod Valiant and the Valiant that is coming. I had no cash on me but he sketched Darque for me anyway. It was a pleasure and an honor to meet Bob. If somebody would explain how to post a picture here, I would be glad to post the sketch that he did for me.

Get a photobucket account (or something similar) upload the photo from your computer to their site. They will give you a URL link to copy, bring it over here and make a post, paste in the URL tag, highlight it and click the Img button at the top of this dialogue box and that should do it.

If he doesn't want/have an image account somewhere, I'll volunteer to host it. He'd just have to e-mail it to me.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

I was there but I was too busy meeting George Romero to bother with Bob Hall or the other comic guys there. The G4 thing was cool and Sci Fi was awesome.

Slym, I would be happy to e-mail a scan of the art Bob did if you can PM me your email address I can get it to you. Thank you for the offer.

Manning, why on earth would you go to a Comic Convention and not want to meet Comic creators and people in general related to comics? George Romero and Sci Fi being there seems to have ruined what Comic Con is about, although Romero being there seems more on par with comics than Sci Fi does. They run ECW on their station which proves they may not really know what Sci Fi is.

Does it matter why I went to Comic Con? Who are you to ask me what I was doing there? You aren't my keeper. I went and met who I wanted to and saw what I wanted to see and just because it wasn't Bob Hall doesn't mean I am wrong anymore than you are for wanting to meet him. Besides, I got my Toe Tags series signed by George Romero. At least those aren't in a discount bin.

Heh

Other than going to Hall's table and the VALIANT get together I also avoided the comic book panels. I spent my time going to TV and movie-related panels.

Getting in line for stuff at the con is very exhausting and time consuming, and neither DC, Marvel, nor Image have done anything in the last few years that would justify spending that kind of energy on.

DC's doing comics aimed at people over 50 years old, Marvel isn't doing anything I'm excited about, and I only get very few Top Cow comics, which is nothing to get in line for.

I was just asking guy, no reason to get excited about it. The Shadowman books I got signed aren't in any discount bins I know of except for #0 maybe.

The times I went to Wizard World Chicago, I didn't bother standing in any of those lines to meet someone or for whatever other reason. I come to a comic show to buy comics. Any time wasted waiting in some line is taking away from my time rooting through boxes. :thumb:

Unlike years past at SDCC it only took a day or so to go through all the comic boxes there at the Comic section of the show has really shrunk down it's sad.

That being said I did find some great deals this year even though they were few and far between.

I hope so. For a while there, my interest in comics waned quite a bit, but now that I'm back posting here more often, the bug is back. Just have to get things for the house squared away and then hopefully I'll have dough for comics.

Bob drew this for me on Friday. He took a few sentences from the character description I wrote and...wow!

The guy's name is Ubermann, an SS supersoldier for a comic project I'm writing. Bob is amazing.

I can send the bio if anybody wants to read it. Just PM me. Bob has drawn other characters I've created in the past. He's awsome and always has fun with them.
