Plus, at a guess numbers are going to be low for initial print runs.Daniel Jackson wrote:I'm guessing that it would not be worth the cost and time to even bother with it really. It must not have went over big the first time or Valiant would have used the process a lot more than they did.
Scary thought - what if as rictor suggest they offred two versions: surely the most horrible though for a variant ever. I really hope the variant bad-wagon isn't hopped aboard by VEI to the extent that some books/publishers are wont to do...
Incentives yes, variant on everything? No, please no. And please no VALIANT vision! As Rufusharley pointed out, it undermines good work by colourists.

If I remember correctly, VALIANT discontinued the use of VALIANT Vision due to cost, which is why starting with the fourth issue only the covers on Psi-Lords were done with the process while the interiors weren't.
According to the guide, Psi-Lords #4 had a print run of 60,000 units.
If they couldn't afford the process with that number of sales, I don't think VEI could do it now.
Apparently in order to afford the process they need to sell around 100,000 units.

Yeah, we definitely don't need another Zoom Suit type variant fiasco.leonmallett wrote:Plus, at a guess numbers are going to be low for initial print runs.Daniel Jackson wrote:I'm guessing that it would not be worth the cost and time to even bother with it really.
