Every time I see a Pre-Unity book that's the first thing I think.
amen, brother! Even some non Pre-Unity books. Who can resist a copy a Rai #0 when you find it in a bargain bin? Not me! :D

Why do you do it? Investment? Market manipulation ? Upgrading, but never parted with the lower grade issue? You're a retailer and that's what you have to do?

For those that don't, why don't you? No interest? No space? You only need a reader?

I generally only have one of most books, I occassionally pick up an extra copy of a book here and there in hopes of flipping. I do have 3 copies of My Greatest Adventure #80, but I've been upgrading and just never moved out the older copies. Sometimes I buy an extra for my brother or a friend that I think they would enjoy and just never remember to give the extra to them when I see them. I've also bought multiples by mistake...I didn't take a book off my want list for whatever reason and just keep picking it up.

I'm not knocking anyone for buying multiples. Hey-if it makes you happy and you're not hurting anyone, go for it! I am just curious about the reasoning behind it. Why keep 10 copies of the same book? Or 20? Or 50? Or 100? Space limitaions would eventually be an issue (pardon the pun), right?

How much and what is the grade of your 2nd in command copy of My Greatest Adventure #80

:)
I'll try to find it today. I want to say it's VG or F, but I can't swear to it. :thumb:

plus if you happen across something that you know is WAYYY underpriced at a shop...you snag it! :thumb:
Well......yeah. :D

I consider these accidental multiples though. It's not like you set out to get 30 copies of the same book. But I've fallen victim to this too.

With pre-unity stuff, I just can't pass up good deals. I know they're not worth anywhere close to what they once were, but I still have some sort of mental thing about owning comics I couldn't even think about buying 13 years ago.

Back when I collected non-VALIANT books, I'd sometimes buy an extra copy of something simply for the speculative aspect of it. Looking back at those comics now, I'm sorry I ever wasted my money.

I still get the occassional speculative books, it's rare, but I do it.

Yeah I did that with some of post unity books like EW #8, Shadowman #16, Solar #14, Bloodshot #6. All these were Vantage ( I think that's what it was called anyway) & Wizard "hot picks" back in the day. Boy, what a difference a year made for the price of those......

I still like Solar #14... if I could find those all day long for $1, I'd probably spend a few hundred before I got tired. :thumb:
