Biggest VALIANT writing mistake
IYO, what was the biggest VALIANT mistake that was made in the books?
So I'm not talking aobut axing Shooter, or BWS leaving, or selling the company... but bad writing decisions.
I'll start...
A&A only 26 issues!
Who else had a comic about an old fat drunk guy and a sheltered naive kid... they were not heroes, they just went place to place and... adventure followed them
I loved the banter, Aram telling us he made Stonehedge because he was drunk... stuff like that. That you could have A&A in the same universe as Solar, XO, Bloodshot, and Harada was cool.
I mean come on.... they had the Sisters of Doom!
How did they decided to quit A&A, but have the Psi-Lords instead?

I hear ya....there are differences in all three....enough that I don't consider them all VALIANT. I just think a TON of *SQUEE* is dumped on Fabian unfairly....he did the best he could with what he had....which at the time of the industry wasn't much to work with IMO.jedimarley wrote:I didn't know we were just talking about VH-1.betterthanezra wrote:Nope....X-O/Iron man......But NO VH-1jedimarley wrote:Didn't "Fab" write some *SQUEE* for VALIANT heros?betterthanezra wrote:Thats Acclaim and I'm sure isn't what they were refering to Frankjedimarley wrote:Fabian Nicieza![]()

Not the biggest, but making Zephyr the character of focus for a few issues of Harby was a big writing mistake. 2 issues of that crap and I said, "I ain't buying this *SQUEE* anymore." Never returned. Don't know how it ended.Elveen wrote:IYO, what was the biggest VALIANT mistake that was made in the books?

Not to me. There's Valiant. And there's Acclaim. Two distinct entities. And instead of using VH1, VH2, and VH3, we should be using Valiant, AH1, & AH2 (AH= Acclaim Heroes). Or just V, A1, & A2.jedimarley wrote:I didn't know we were just talking about VH-1.

There was some good stuff in Acclaim's comics. I won't deny that. But it's not Valiant.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I don't think we should change anything interms of translation. During that period it was called VH-1 & VH-2 by the companey. I think changing it now would just confuse more people.Heath wrote:Not to me. There's VALIANT. And there's Acclaim. Two distinct entities. Zephyr was the character I was least interested in.. even Flamingo would have been better, or how about a new interesting character.... and Harby always worked for me because the kids were renegrade...

No problem, it's just that this has been a sore spot with some people for years. There's a few old posts buried somewhere around here that talk about it. I'm not sure if we took a poll then or not.Heath wrote:I wasn't making a suggestion as much as just blabbering my own meaningless personal opinion.Daniel Jackson wrote:I think it would too, just leave it the way it is.betterthanezra wrote:I don't think we should change anything interms of translation. My VH2 or A1 or M1 (massarsky 1) started either after shooter left or after bws left. Depends on how I feel on a certain day. It's all a matter of opinion anyway.jedimarley wrote:So VH2 started when....Birthquake?betterthanezra wrote:I don't think we should change anything interms of translation. VH-2 in my opinion started with X-O Manowar #1 VOL. 2....thats the way I always looked at it.jedimarley wrote:So VH2 started when....Birthquake?betterthanezra wrote:I don't think we should change anything interms of translation. To me it's all valiant. VH1. VH2. And VH3. The only difference is the owners.
