Hey I just checked out my Spidey 300. No rat chews! Does that make it a little more rare or something?

It would probably be a candidate for a 9.8...but then, everything else has to be perfect on it too.

It's Brett. Does he still post here?

Yo, yo. What's up Boda? I'm still here but I lurk more than I post these days. I'm cheering for my book, but that CGG looks pretty sweet.

Get in there Peter!

When I look at my books snug in the slab I can't see how a book coud sustain damage unless you were extremely careless.

I can see something in the way of blunt wear developing at the top and bottom after having it flung around a room by a bunch of kids for a week or two... hmmm .....

If I can score a really cheap CGC book I'm gonna do just that. Let my kids throw the *SQUEE* outa the thing and see how bad the damage "can" be.

I'll be sure to post pics of the horror.

Alright, Ryostar, congrats. ;)

You got some crazy per...er, some nice guy to pay $77 for it, which is MUCCCCH higher than a raw book.

Congrats!

This will give CGG some street cred.

That ended at $244.92. No surprise on the winning bidder, huh?

Holy crap!

I'm amazed everytime I see someone pay this kind of money for one of these. There's no way the CGC one is worth three times the CGG one.

Some horse race. Geez.

There is not rhyme or reason to graded comics. I think that the line on cgg is that they are tighter graders on the moderns so this 9.9 cgg book could have really been a 10.0 cgc book yet it sold for a 1/3 of the 9.8 cgc book...someone needs to crack the cgg slab and send that book to cgc....see what they grade it as...someone could have getten a really good deal...How much will the next valiant 10.0 go for?

It's definitely an issue "still up in the air".
I would guess that those who are familiar with CGG, and like them,
are hoping that CGG will have a larger impact in the hobby and gain some
"market share" from CGC.
However, if the 'open market' is any indication, confidence seems
to be squarely behind CGC for otherwise "identical items".

It's almost like Beta and VHS for VCRs.
The question is... if CGG is Beta, and CGC is VHS,
then who's going to be the company that comes out with DVDs?
