I'm STILL steamed. Getting outbid is one thing, but losing out because the seller ended the auction EARLY, and you had a higher bid waiting to go off....? That's just effing stupid.

Just e-mail and let him know you were interested in his auctions, and even let him know your highest bids (padded if you feel like.) Then tell him you would never do business with him now.

Here's a great idea! Get a bargain bin book, color touch it, slab it, then put it on ebay!!!

Unfortunately, I just got sucked into his Magnus 0 w/o card for the $14.95 opening bid (no one outbid me, wonder why? ). Anyway, let's have a contest to see how close it is to the advertised NM/M -- that's a 9.8 in CGC vernacular.

I'll go first: NM- 9.2.

The Magnus 0 arrived last week from Vikes; his NM/M without a scan was really a ...... NM- 9.2!

I've gotten yet ANOTHER seller that doesn't know how to pack comics. This was my other really good deal (Solar 1-5, X-O 1, Magnus 4-7) coming from Canada this time - comics only bagged, no boards; wrapped in bubble wrap; placed in envelope and mailed.

This isn't an auction, but I didn't want to start a new thread either...

I was walking around the local mall this past weekend. A clothing store moved out recently, and in its place now are several vendors selling things like coins, sports cards, antique dishes, etc. Sort of a mini flea market. (I guess the mall is getting desperate.) One of the vendors had some non-sports trading cards. He had the Unity set for $10.00. The Valiant Era I set for $8.50. And the Marvel Universe Series 1 (1990) for the low discount bargin price of $35.50. He said he'd make me a nice deal and sell all three for $50. No chase cards. Basic sets only.

In the interest of politeness, I'm sure you didn't laugh out loud...much....but I REALLLLY have a hard time not doing that when I run into morons like this.

Hell, his "discount" price isn't even a decent one!

I tried to be nice about it. When he told me the "special deal" he'd make me for all three, I just said, "I'll keep that in mind" and walked off.

But, as I walked off, I mentioned something to my wife about his price guide being at least 10 years out of date. I wasn't loud, but I didn't whisper either.

I store all of mine open and flat. It saves space and IMO preserves the comic better. Of course they don't fit in comic bags so I place a sheet of Saran Wrap between each comic.

They take up even less space if you roll them up into a cylinder. Who needs bags? I can cram a couple dozen in a standard poster mailer tube.
