Bloodshot # 0 Platinum Error

Believe me...it ain't no Unity Red.

So, you wouldn't trade a Unity red to get one? That's just silly talk. The book has only sold/exchanged hands for less than $500 once & that was my first copy. It only sold for less than $500 because nobody had ever heard of it. I bought a second copy for $550 & got $800 for it. Nannymom sold 2-3 copies & they all pulled $700+. I know where there's a sixth copy & he won't budge for under $650. That doesn't include all of these recent "supposed" copies that people can't verify. Unity 0 red I can get all day long for $40. In fact, I pass it up all the time over $30. There's no way the two books compare valuewise. ~Erskine

Of course I would. I'm not stupid! BUT...I would IMMEDIATELY....IMMEDIATELY....sell it on eBay and use that money to buy however many more Unity Reds I could. I also wouldn't turn down a Magnus vs. Predator TPB for $20, because I KNOW the market will support more than that, and I will recognize a nice profit. $30 would be sketchy, and I dunno if I could part with $40 for it....too risky.

But for the Plat Bloodshot? Of course I'd trade a Unity Red for it, right NOW....but in the future? Depends entirely on the market.

Because, in the final analysis, it's not an 'official' book, and once people get tired of it, as alluring as it may now be, it's not going to CONTINUE selling for $700. I didn't compare Unity Red to the plat VALUE wise...of course not....but I DID compare them content wise, history wise, and importance wise. That guy that 'won't budge for under $650'....may end up sitting on a $100 (or less) book someday. Look at the 'Limited to 25 or 10' Museum Editions so popular right now....THEY are official, and THEY don't bring more than $100-$200. Me? I'll take my chances on a dozen Unity Reds for ONE Bloodshot Plat.

I may not LIKE a situation.....but I understand the dynamics of the free market, and only a fool stands on principle in this regard. But in the final analysis, Bloodshot Plat is STILL no Unity Red, whether it's one copy or 50.

Dude, where have you been seing Unity Red for $30?

You have to look outside of E-bay on the internet... Takes time, but eventually you find the books. My deal with not buying them at $30 is because they pull between $45-$55 on E-bay. By the time I pay shipping to get them to me I'm only looking at around $10 profit & I waste time getting it. You also have to worry about condition on anything bought on the internet. If I pay for a NM Unity red @ $30, pay $5 to ship it to me, wait a week to get it, & then if comes in @ VF. I'd be lucky to get my money back. Now if a person wanted the book to own it's not such a bad deal. I just have no desire to own anymore of them. ~Erskine

I don't know of many internet sites selling back issues that I'm sure I can trust. Do you have specific ones you go to for Valiant stuff like this?

Nope, it's purely a risk. I usually ask if they have an E-bay ID that I can refer to. Beyond that, I just hope they send. I will let you know the next time I come across one. ~Erskine
