yes they did. At first I wasnt sure how many people would be interested and was trying to make up the numbers so we could get all 40 signed. I had two or three people get multiples the first day but even then I restriced it to two copies with one person getting three (hes a great board member and gets killed on shipping so I thought it would be nice to help him out).

Btw I've had a few emails/pms asking me not to reveal who bought copies and what quantities and numbers of issues they got. I wont be posting my spreadsheet list on the board then BUT if people are willing to post what number out of 40 they are getting a list could be formed without me upseting anyone.

You know who kicks *SQUEE*? magnusr kicks *SQUEE*!

He pm'd me right after I posted about not having a spare book to auction for the site and said

"You know Dino, the idea of an auction for the site is irresistible. Please take my second and auction it for the site."

not only that but (and this is to embarass him) when I asked if he was serious he said

"I'm serious, but I'll refrain from taking credit"

So there we have it. One copy will be auctioned off with ALL proceeds going to valiantcomics.com

I reserved number 27, the date of my sons birth and that happens to be my age when I purchased the book.

Dino, I can't agree more, Magnus is an awesome guy! Always prompt to email you and just rap about valiant, whether he is in Cairo, Morocco or where ever his job happens to take him when you chat.

Thanks Magnus for putting aside your wants and letting Dino auction that one off for the site!

That is a nice story, magnusr is a class act.

I reserved 20/40 for no reason other than it seemed cool to be in the middle.

Thanks again Dino, to you and to everyone involved, this has been fun.

All hail Magnus R!

I remember him from when he got the Valiant Visions newsletter. Sigh, so long ago.

I was actually just looking at some old ones - would you believe at one point we had 250 people signed up for it!!

Good stuff, my birthday lands on the 22nd as well.

I was wondering about #13 too as that's my hockey jersey number, but I guess wrunow beat me too it.

As for selling it, I will not. It goes on the pillow beside me in bed, de-throning my soul copy of CEAR. The girlfriend is still on the couch, bless her heart.

That's funny Lobo as that was also my hockey number (many years ago) and now my 15yo son wears it because I did when he can get the number.

Hey guys, I'm back.
I had to extend my stay in vacouver by a few days, sorry about all the missed pm's and emails. I went straight to bed last night and was up and off to work this morning before I could get my packages from the mail room. I have 8 waiting for me and I did see a friend who works in the mail room on my way out this morning who said there was a HUGE box of comics waiting for me....however he also said that its in really bad shape. Im hoping its not the magnus 0's if its in bad shape, it could be but I really just dont know. Last thing I heard from Jayjay was that her boyfriend was gonna mail them out.

After I wrote the post I started thinking and couldnt stop wondering whether it was the Magnus 0's. I called a friend at uni to go over and check. He it was a box full of about 50 valiant comics but they were mostly solars so we're safe even if it means no books yet. It may be in one of the other 7 packages though. I dont know I dont think it will be coz I figure Jayjay would email me once she has sent them out.

Thanks for checking Dino, you put many of at ease! Things happen, but that would have been a real shame. Sorry about your books that did get banged up.

i'm glad i don't check on this stuff every day...

that almost reminded me of that story someone on the boards told of winning this terrific auction for tons of books with a few gems, and then-they received an e-mail that said, rai 3 and 4 and harbinger 1 fell out of the box into the mud, do you still want them?!" or something close to that.

UPDATE:

Spoke to Jayjay today, the books were mailed out around three weeks ago. There seems to have been a problem in shipping......... :(
She is going to find the receipt so we can track down the books.
