I don't remember anyone posting that they actually got one.

It was a strange situation... the guy showed up and posted that he would
trade Bloodshot 0 Platinum for CEAR, and he would send the Platinum first.

So, if it was a scam, it wouldn't work if he was sending the books first.

Anyway, I don't remember anyone announcing that their copy had arrived,
and it seems like there would have been some (loud) happy campers
if the trade ever actually happened.

At the time I was the first to post on his thread but since I didn't know if he was legit I asked if he would be comfortable sending the Plat first. He agreed on the thread but when I PM'd him to confirm he answered saying they both were gone and he only had one left which he was keeping.

I never did hear anything from any of you guys so I figured either he asked that you not disclose yourself (the lucky devil) or he was fabricating the whole thing (most probable).

Either way it would be great knowing what actually happened.

my vote is for lying his head off or "fabrication" as you like to put it.

Either

1. Someone made him a private offer on it.
2. He never really had one, or
3. He's not very good with deadlines.

I'm guessing 3, but you never know.

Bloodshot 0 Platinum was "featured" in Wizard recently,
with the wrong photo. Maybe that's what's drawing some
to the website lately.

But, it's also possible he's got the "real thing", too. Somebody's got 'em.

I don't know about that. I wouldn't be suprised at all if the only copies in existance were the 5 we know of.

I wasn't aware that Wizard had published the wrong picture. I'd sure feel bad for the guy if he's mistaken a regular edition for the holy grail of Valiant collecting as a result of seeing that.

I've always figured there's a good chance the rest were either caught and thrown out, or ended up all in the same place. There could be twenty copies sitting in some ten year old quarter bin somewhere. Then again, I guess that's what we obsessers hope for ;)

I don't think its the holy grail. Personally, I'm off the book for even half the price.

I think someone claimed to have ten copies and thats partly why the print run is estimated at 25. He never showed any proof though, just a claim and I think he had some inside info about working with the printer.

Didn't someone at Valiant also verify 25 test copies?

I don't hold much stock in the issue either. Errors are not collectibles in my mind. Nevertheless, it is the single most sought after, most valuable Valiant issue around.

The only....I repeat, the ONLY...reason Bloodshot #0 Plat is worth ANYTHING is because of US. Word of mouth, posts, etc etc etc....most folks would (rightly) have just considered this a test run or error batch...there are literally thousands of books like this (Deathmate Prologue with no foil, for instance....$700?)...it's ony cause we've all worked ourselves up about it that it's been built up to what it 'is'.

Believe me...it ain't no Unity Red.

Well, part of the difference is we know the definite print run of the Blooshot platinums, as opposed to simple mistakes printing - we don't know how many of them exist.

If, for example, it was revealed that there were only 100 Deathmate Prologues without foil, then would people be more interested in getting one? Probably.

Yeah, we play a role in the demand, but the fact the supply is ONLY limited to 25 means that it is the rarest of mistakes. And since it was an "official" mistake, meaning Valiant recognized it, and didn't release it to the stores (at least I don't think they did - did they?) means that it is even rarer. Sort of like when the mint produces a mistake coin and they try to get them all to destroy them or something.

Yeah - in terms of collecting Valiant, you can make an arguement that it is no different than any other printing error, but I would think that there are reasons that make if different from other printing errors as well.

So, you wouldn't trade a Unity red to get one? That's just silly talk. The book has only sold/exchanged hands for less than $500 once & that was my first copy. It only sold for less than $500 because nobody had ever heard of it. I bought a second copy for $550 & got $800 for it. Nannymom sold 2-3 copies & they all pulled $700+. I know where there's a sixth copy & he won't budge for under $650. That doesn't include all of these recent "supposed" copies that people can't verify. Unity 0 red I can get all day long for $40. In fact, I pass it up all the time over $30. There's no way the two books compare valuewise. ~Erskine
