New Pro Shadowman Original Art - 100% Hurrican Relief
I have currently on Ebay a new original Shadowman piece title "The Battle of New Orleans". The current minimum bid is $40 and all proceeds go to hurrican relief. I thought it only fitting that New Orleans' own superhero should make a contribution in some small way.
As is my usual deal with new originals and commissions the winner gets a computer colored version on watercolor paper as well.

Looks awesome. Too awesome for my budget though. I always did like how Shadowman was from New Orleans -- so different than the average superhero. At least we know he survived his 1999 fate

Pretty sure this would have brought him back if he'd died in 1999. Cool piece of work.IMissValiant wrote:Looks awesome. Too awesome for my budget though. I always did like how Shadowman was from New Orleans -- so different than the average superhero. At least we know he survived his 1999 fate

A regular gig on a title is hard for me -- even back in my prime. I'm frankly too slow to do a monthly book -- I'm one of those agonize over every page guys. That's why I mostly did specials, pinups and fill-ins.hulk181man wrote:Cliff, that is a stunning piece of art. Are you working on any books these days? I really should be looking into them
These days I mostly push pixels instead of pigments -- I'm a partner in a design and advertising agency in Kalamazoo and the Interactive Director for the company.
I do have a couple of books -- but they aren't comics. A QuickTimer's Guide to Web Video and another called Podcasting: iTunes and Beyond (coming out as soon as I get it done). I also contributed to the Adobe GoLive Visual QuickStart Guide from Peachpit Press, and a couple of the books in the Morgan Kaufman Understanding QuickTime series -- and I used to write for Mac Design magazine prettyy regulalry as a software reviewer. I still periodically get invited to speak at conferences like Macworld, QuickTime Live, and Apple's WWDC. I'm starting a Podcast later this month or early next called QuickTiming -- which is also the name of a website I created ( http://quicktiming.org).
In my copious free time

On the other hand, if anybody's got something to throw at me, I'm certainly willing.

C'mon, folks... you have to at least TRY to knock me off this! It's for a good cause, after all!
Although, I wouldn't mind ONE BIT to have this hanging up on my wall..........

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

Well, it went two days after placing my bid without another bid - looks like I will have to find a place on my wall for this great bit of art, at least after I get it framed.
Thank you, Mr. VanMeter! Item is paid for, and I can't wait to get it!!!

There's another chance for a similar piece of artwork by Cliff Van Meter, or even a piece of Shadowman art by Bob Hall! See here: http://www.valiantfans.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7475
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
