Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
My LCS had a copy of Invincible #11 recently for $50. I nearly bought it but passed it up. I'm probably missing around 10 of the first 20 issues, but thankfully I've already got a #1 (bought that for $50 years ago). If they're all getting too steep in all around value due to speculation, I'll probably never fill in the gaps though.

I sold a full run of Invincible up to 120 or so in January for $350. Granted, the #1 was a One Dollar book, and the lot took months to sell, but still.

I am much as I want it to happen, do you really think the movie will get produced? I do not think Preacher is going to make it past season 2. With that being said, if Preacher fails to do well, I do not believe a major studio will have faith in another property that he supports. I hope I am wrong, but we will see.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
That was similar to my comics, a batch of misc issues of around 45 comics. I couldn't get any interest in 1.5/each,m locally and there's another guy that was trying to sell an uninterrupted run for quite some time also. I ended up selling for about $2 each off eBay to a guy looking to buy, I find it's just really tough to sell runs even if they're popular titles.nycjadie wrote:I sold a full run of Invincible up to 120 or so in January for $350. Batman #24 is going up. Already a third printing, I think.
I just hope that I have a 1st print copy when my books arrive this month. The speculators always get ahead of actual fans of the books in Europe.

Early Image newsstand issues seem to be sought after lately. Spawn #1 is fetching a pretty penny.

Wildcats #2 is my favorite early Image newsstand. There were so many of those direct edition holo-prism covers back-in-the-day that the unusual plain white newsstand edition really looks great now.Elveen wrote:JCP wrote:Early Image newsstand issues seem to be sought after lately. That is interesting. I wonder if the buyer was looking at completed sales for the newsstand not realizing there is a difference.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
That was my first thought. Even with the Spawn movie news coming out, I can't imagine the early books jumping too incredibly high. I saw where a Spawn 2 CGC 9.8 sold for $70 and a Spawn 4 CGC 9.8 sold for $50. Those are a little higher than the usual sales.greg wrote:That is interesting.
