Re: Rai in July's LootCrate
It's not too costly if it's payed for by someone else. In this case Loot Crate purchased 650,000 (or whatever the actual number is) copies of this book.jaden_sai wrote:greg wrote:There'll be 650,000 of something Rai. I was thinking deep discount, but as along as you get your printing costs covered (or close to) than getting this book into the hands of 650,000 (or whatever the actually number is) is worth it.jeremycoe wrote: It's not too costly if it's payed for by someone else. Re: Rai in July's LootCrate
Absolutely worth it. Even if they sold them to loot crate at cost (which would be less than their normal cost per issue given the volume) it would be well worth it to get a book out to 650k potential readers. Not all of them are, obviously, but a good portion have to be comic book readers. Great move on their part.

Holy crap! If this is true.. 650,000 people exposed to Valiant..
That would probably be the best news for VEI yet.

I still signed up for 2. The only problem I see is like a few friends of mine have already offered me theirs....I hope they read it, because I am always pushing Valiant!

I got one that had Orphan Black #1 in it and never read it. Got one with Star Wars #1 in it and did read it. Who knows what people will do.Ramses818 wrote:I still signed up for 2. If nothing else I think it will put the Valiant name on peoples radar and help catch more of their attention when the movies hit.

I can see what you're saying, but I wonder if that's a little optimistic.Aram wrote:If nothing else I think it will put the Valiant name on peoples radar and help catch more of their attention when the movies hit.
I wonder if it's going to be more like 'Gen 0 Syndrome', where Valiant leave it too long and the heat cools off, failing to maintain people's interest. VEI put this comic out there now, but the movies only hit in 2-3 years time: by then anyone who received this comic (and doesn't already know about VEI) in this month's Lootcrate is going to have looooonnnnng forgotten 'Rai' or 'Valiant' if this doesn't catch their attention here and now.
I don't know really, that's just my guess. Whether or not a 'new' reader of this Rai comic can make the connection between this and the BS movie in 2-3 year's time is also pretty dubious I think, but I guess we'll see maybe.
Still, nice that VEI are trying to grab some new readers by putting this in the Lootcrate, not a bad idea in itself

Re: Rai in July's LootCrate
Has there been some news announcement that I've missed which pushed back the timetable? What is this '2-3 years' before the movies start coming out? The last I heard, we were still on for 2017 for Bloodshot, right?Shadowman99 wrote:I can see what you're saying, but I wonder if that's a little optimistic.Aram wrote:If nothing else I think it will put the Valiant name on peoples radar and help catch more of their attention when the movies hit.

No news as far as I've heard. I just can't see VEI making the 2017 deadlinePhoenix8008 wrote:Has there been some news announcement that I've missed which pushed back the timetable? There hasn't been any news, but the announcement of the 2017 date for Bloodshot was BEFORE the announcement of John Wick 2.Shadowman99 wrote:No news as far as I've heard. It would be surprising if John Wick 2 had no effect on the release date for Bloodshot (same directors).

Re: Rai in July's LootCrate
VEI seems to like to save up news on what is being worked on until it is well underway with progress to show and then create an explosion of anticipation all at once, so I think the next news update on the Bloodshot movie will be worth the wait.

Do all crates have the same content or do they pack different stuff depending on your location - US/Canada vs Europe?

Re: Rai in July's LootCrate
There are probably 20 to 100 times more of this Loot Crate comic than anything else Valiant has published since the 1990s. It should always be available.nonplayer wrote:Sure is alot on eBay.
