Archer & Armstrong Classic Omnibus
So this comes out tomorrow - I'm left wondering is it going to actually be oversized? Or is the new Valiant going to screw everyone over again by laughably printing the panels regular sized but with a giant black border around them?
I'm not going to even ask about the binding being sewn this time...

With or without the black border, I will be happy to have this and I hope they do more omnibuses.

Your asking two different questions. The book itself will be oversized. We'll have to see about the artwork. Either way, I want this and won't feel "screwed over" either way.riftt wrote:So this comes out tomorrow - I'm left wondering is it going to actually be oversized? Alone, listless, breakfast table in an otherwise empty room.

I've never felt screwed over on any of the other Omnibuses. Felt they looked and read just fine. Maybe just a you problem?riftt wrote:So this comes out tomorrow - I'm left wondering is it going to actually be oversized? Seeing as how you never bought the last one, can I ask how you, personally, got "screwed over?'
And since I did buy the last one and will be happily buying this one, no matter what the art size, can you explain who you're talking about exactly when you use the term "everyone?" I didn't get screwed over.
I wonder what it would be like to be a lonely, muck-encrusted monster? Probably be an improvement.

First, I know nothing about this since I've never seen the book, let alone own it.
But I do see his point. What is the purpose of an oversize printing if not to enlarge the art?

Archer & Armstrong Classic Omnibus
I will say that I was not impressed with the X-O omnibus, and was impressed with the quantum and woody omnibus. Due to this inconsistency (based on my own personal standards), I would prefer an impartial review of the A&A omnibus including quality of scans, paper quality, matte or gloss paper, black borders, etc.? An impartial review will help me determine if I buy the A&A omnibus or just bind the individual issues.
Also, I want VEI to succeed, but that doesn't mean I won't criticize their product is I am not impressed with it. My opinions on some of the previous books are at the following link:

Pull List: I only buy TPB's, HC's and Hellboy comics

It's one thing to criticize a product. It's another to accuse VEI of "screw[ing] everyone over". I could see how some might be disappointed with the X-O omnibus, but I personally wasn't.caxiotis wrote:I will say that I was not impressed with the X-O omnibus, and was impressed with the quantum and woody omnibus.
