Lower than in recent months, but it really depends on the total gross for the market. I expect a nice bump from that in December with Wrath #1, Trill #0, Operation Deadside, and Unity #25.

Wrath of the EW came out in November and is included in these percentages. I think the real thing to consider is actual sales numbers, not the market share numbers. Marvel & DC both sold a ton of books in November with Vader Down #1 and DK3 #1. That will make VEIs percentages go down, even if they sell the same number of books.

Oops...Forgot that was still November. But Wrath 2 should still have a decent number.

That was what I meant by the gross for the industry. VEI can have a lower share and make more money than a month with a higher share but lower monthly gross for the industry.

The simplest way to look at it...

Valiant had 9 titles in October and 0.99% unit share.
Valiant had 8 titles in November and 0.87% unit share.

Identical.

84 VAL WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR #1 [*] $3.99

*Returnable-which I believe, knocks off about 10% of the actual total number, to account for possible returns, so that 84, is a little misleading. It's still cool that Valiant has a book in the top 100, two months in a row, especially, with all these new #1's, flooding the market...

Not necessarily. VEI shipped 9 books and 5 GNs in October.

If I am not mistaken, on the November Solicits there are only 7 issues (plus 2 $1 Debuts) and 6 GNs (4 TPBs and 2 Deluxe).

My notes had Rai #12 in November, but that didn't happen. That's 7 titles with 0.87%.
That means Valiant might have done better in November, despite falling to 0.87% unit share.

Returns are usually 5% (give or take).

It's a travesty. I can't believe the critics who love all those Indy/Image books haven't caught on to those two books and brought more attention to them.

Meanwhile Quantum & Woody was nominated for a billion awards and was a critical darling!?!?

Couldn't agree more. Those titles are by far the best VEI is putting out. Not that the other stuff is bad by any means, it's just that these two are that much better.

Like I said in a post the other day. I never liked the original Timewalker and I despise time travel books, however, FVL has weaved an absolute MASTERPIECE. I believe someday people will realize what he has accomplished with this series. I think it's up there with some of the big classics or famous runs.

As for Imperium.... Dysart just kills it. Favorite title... By FAR! Don't even know what to say... It has to be just no recognition and push by retailers. Man, ALOT of fanboys are really missing out.

I know it's not me... I don't have this obscure taste... I just know what's good.

For instance, TMNT was the *SQUEE* in the beginning... Loved it! Now look!

Bone was great... From the beginning... Classic!

Not to mention.... Pre-unity! No brainer.

Started Sandman, walking dead, and Invincible from the beginnings and was ranting over them.

Now it's VEI and books like Saga!

facepalm

I just don't get it! Anywhere I go I promote Imperium, Divinity, and Ivar.... And everytime... No one has either heard of them or picked them up.

Hell... I couldn't tell you how many retailers have never heard of them. Mind boggling!

I think the reason Imperium isn't catching on with a lot of readers is because it's not enough like a generic superhero book to catch the attention of the big superhero crowd and not indie enough for the typical indie comic crowd.
That would be my guess.
It's special, but being special means that it will, most likely, stay obscure.

This. I think for outsiders, Imperium seems like a title that you'd have to be familiar with the Valiant universe to understand. I don't think that's necessarily true -- but the Imperium's readership is a subset of Harbinger fans in specific and Valiant in general.
