Re: VALIANT AT CALGARY EXPO

Awesome art. I'm jealous - I drove down from Edmonton this morning but they weren't letting any more people in by the time I got there :(

I'm pretty sure the bio looks the same as when I read it in the week leading up to the Con. I certainly remember the words "...yet to be announced as of this writing." But, if it has changed, that's definitely good news.

Yes, this is what I was referring to in the "Any NYCC 2009 News?" thread. I was disappointed that, it seems, no such announcement was made.

Thanks Geomancer, you've presented a helpful and reassuring perspective.

And Dino, I appreciate the Hardcovers VEI has released so far. Since I didn't collect Valiant in the 90's (although I was of course aware of it) the hardcovers have been my main source of the material. I hope one day I'll ...

NYCC 2009 News?

I've been lurking around the few comic sites I know of, anxiously awaiting any news regarding Valiant, VEI, Jim Shooter or even Dark Horse, and I haven't seen anything. Has anyone seen/heard any news?

I thought I read that both VEI and Shooter were going to make announcements. Did I misread, or am ...

What Next?

Well, I've got the Archer & Armstrong Hardcover (Thank you VEI)! So what could be next?

Of course there are questions about the A&A delay and possible legal concerns re: reprinting Magnus, Solar and Turok, but what do you think will be next?
Another hardcover? If so, which one?
Which title would ...

I'm worried there may be money problems. iirc Crossgen ended with misterious delays because they couldn't pay printing arrears so the printer wouldn't release the books. It just seems strange to me that there is such a long delay for a finished product.

I really hope that isn't the case though - I ...

Dino, I'm surprised. You provided real responses to legitimate questions in such a negative way. You confirmed that the new stories referred to in the past are the stories found in the hardcovers (which I emensly enjoy). This sets realalistic expectations; it's great information.

I believe ...

I'm not to sure about my "linking" ability but is this it?

Try the interview by Joe Petrilak.

I wish someone would write a book about Jim Shooter, hell it'd make a good movie even.

Excellent, I look forward to getting it.

Also, it's interesting to see the "See the Valiant characters in new stories coming soon" line at the top of the ad. Is it refering to the new story in the hardcover or something more?

Any New News?

I don't believe Valiant Entertainment has announced a Hardcover to follow up the fantastic Harbinger and X-O books. Does anyone know why?

Are they waiting for more sales from the first two?

Are they trying to secure the rights to Solor and/or Magnus so they can be reprinted next?

Are they waiting ...

Hey Lobo, I went to Comic Fever (Edmonton) last weekend and bought all the Unity comics. I was never into Valiant until I read the Harbringer Hardcover and thought it was great. Anyway, I guess Comic Fever has quite a few Valiants, according to the owner.

Looks like the HC helped lure a new ...
