VEI's webdevelopment team has solved the spam-bot problem, as of March 6th.jedimarley wrote:Just over there.Elveen wrote:Over there or here?jedimarley wrote:I noticed that the porn-bots are back. Any chance we can get that cleaned up???greg wrote:It is my understanding that VEI may be changing website servers,
which would affect the availability of pages during the changeover.
Once the changeover completes, I would assume everything will be back as it was.
They have implemented the changes that I requested so that the registration system
behaves like our side.
I think we're good to go (from either side)!

Okay, we are now into May and books for August have been announced or identified for various companies. The year is trickling away - so does anyone hold much hope of anything else from VEI this year, or does anyone agree with my view (from another thread) that it appears they (VEI) were betting on multi-media licensing rather than focusing on comic books first?

Which is good news, I just have my doubts since there is no news in the past 9 months on their own website, and that was focused on the deal which may not come to fruition re: the movie.Elveen wrote:sonicdan wrote:It will happen when it happens...

Some updates from time to time, even if it's just to say, yeah we're still here and we still intend to put out comics , would be a big help. The court battle is over and the need for total silence on their part should be way past now.leonmallett wrote:Which is good news, I just have my doubts since there is no news in the past 9 months on their own website, and that was focused on the deal which may not come to fruition re: the movie.Elveen wrote:sonicdan wrote:It will happen when it happens...

I want VEI to succeed and make their move when they feel the time is right. If that time is not now that's fine, but keeping their biggest fan base in the dark for months on end is not a great way to start a new business.

I feel that the lack of info has led to a indifferance on my part.
I was hyped.
Then I was ~ i could be persaded to be hyped.
Now I am , well I might go to my local comic shop to see and pick up the new issues just to check them out. On the boarder of not caring at all. Might just pick them up second hand / backissues cheap at a latter date.

And so the apathy of the core audience begins.Phantom wrote:I feel that the lack of info has led to a indifferance on my part.

Has VEI had any presence at any of the Cons this year? I'll totally seek them out in San Diego, but it was interesting to get back from Free Comic Book Day and look through all these free books from publishers hyping what's to come, and stating to be sure to seek them out at the cons for even more announcements and developments.
Fortunately for me, I'm still working on an original run of Valiant to keep me satisfied and busy. I feel bad for all of you that have kept the flame going this long and having been 'promised' new material and still not seeing it (unless the HC's count).

True. I had an internship (unpaid) in a law office last year and the description given sounded a lot different and more involved than the actual work. I ended up mostly doing paperwork and handling calls. I still "did" everything, but the real work was not exactly the way they described it. Who knows, this job could be like that or it could be exactly as it sounds. Hell, except for not being super-adept at Adobe, I could easily handle that position.400yrs wrote:That sounds like a position that's way too big for an unpaid intern. Of course, the job descriptions can be different than the actual work.
