Dissapointed about guest appearances

Post by Jaknife »

there were alot, but i think it would have been awesome to see some more.

mainly i am dissapointed that bloodshot did not meet shadowman in Bloodshot 36. they shoulda taken down papa juju together, i think.

team-ups i would have liked to have seen:
bloodshot and turok. Dont know where, but that woulda been awesome.
Armorines and Secret Weapons, on some mission of some sort.
Shadowman and Bloodshot, as stated above.
Aric and Bloodshot
maybe Dr. Mirage and Solar

I would have loved Harada and the penguins from Solar 3 teaming up to stop Solar.

Sean Chen did a piece depicting Bloodshot and Turok together, for a proposed, but unpublished, tale. I'll look and see if I can't find the scan of it somewhere...

As I mentioned in another post, I think it would have been cool if a Marvel or DC character had crossed over into a Valiant book. I remember thinking when "The Visitor" was being published that perhaps he was a visitor from another company. Like maybe Superman! But alas no....

If I recall, the "penguin proof" argument in Wizard stated that 1) penguins do exist outside Antarctica (ie Australia) and 2) that penguins still exist scattered throughout the globe scattered in various zoos.

Hence, not extinct.

Magnus and Metal Men would have been nice. There is a problem though. Even if the Metal Men had used say Rip Hunter's time machine, their human minds would have been left behind in the 20th century. Anyone got a spare tachyon transponder?

Manoman, don't even tease me.

And if you go to Bob Almond's site, you can see a Deathlok short story that Sal Velluto pencilled (Bob, of course, inked). Sweet heavens ta Betsy!

Don't just take my word for it...

Well, Uzzi the Clown was Valiant's take on the Punisher and I believe Mr. VanHook came down very clearly about who would win such a run-in. :)

i was reading some later issues of bloodshot eariler this evening (wife's working!) stuff in the 40's. it was a lot better than i had been fearing. lots of good fill in from his early life and stuff...tying up some loose ends...andyway i was thinking it would be cool in one of his "deadlier" momnets to have solar meet up with him and try to calm him down...kind of polar opposites trying to has things out. phil could have giving him a real tongue lashing!

yeah well, thats where the greatness stops, and is only good. 49 had wierd art, a story that fit in in no way, as far as his background. 50 and 51 were ok. i liked 50 better, only because 51 showed us his end...maybe.

#49? "Weird" art? A story that "fit in no way"? Are you kidding me? That's a friggin' GREAT story, man. And great art. Greg Boone is amazing. Boodshot is trying to help Jillian, we find out about Angelo Mortalli's past, his troubled high school years, and a big ol' secret that even *he* never knew about 'til this issue.

Read my interview with Greg Boone at my website and check out original art from the issue, all by clicking on the "www" button below...

And, in an issue full of homages to Valiant creators, we find out that Angelo Mortalli went to...VanHook High School. What're the odds of THAT happening? :D

Well, *I* think it's a great issue.

gotta agree with BoH...I thought this would have been a great direction...seems like 50 and 51 were the "quick, wrap it up issues" I thought 49 was laying the foundation for some cool stuff...

well, that may have been why i didnt care for it. and mostly the wierd art were those two chicks. gave me the creeps man. i just prefer chen.
i got the story, i just thought it was dumb to introduce knew people for one issue as if we know who they are.
who the hell was in the statue? what was her purpose? how did those guys get that gun? why were they after bloodshot? what was with the chicks? how did he find out about the gun?
why were they at his high school?

but i do agree about 50/51 being the wrap up issues.

Oh, don't get me wrong. Chen's awesome, too.
Jaknife wrote:i got the story, i just thought it was dumb to introduce knew people for one issue as if we know who they are.
The introduced everyone within the story. Yeah, you might have to read it more than once to get the flashbacks, perhaps.
Jaknife wrote:who the hell was in the statue?
Evie. Just like it says in the book.
Jaknife wrote:what was her purpose?
I'm not sure I understand the question. What do you mean by "purpose"?
Jaknife wrote:how did those guys get that gun?
they're mobsters. they steal things.
Jaknife wrote:why were they after bloodshot?
he tried to steal their stolen gun.
Jaknife wrote:what was with the chicks?
ah--the youngsters from the Place of Many Alike? They're the biiig secret. Re-read it once again, and pay attention to Albi's word balloons.
Jaknife wrote:how did he find out about the gun?
He's Bloodshot, man! He wanted to "cure" Jillian's condition and heard about it.
Jaknife wrote:why were they at his high school?
It was apparently close to their home base. Or else it was just the revenge of the Place for Evie's death. Okay--it's been a while since I've read it. I'm going from memory here.
Jaknife wrote:but i do agree about 50/51 being the wrap up issues.

by her purpose, i mean, what was the point of having her in the story. yes, i know she is the chicks mudda, but still. i just thought it was another issue 46, which simply stood alone.
