CGC Valiant Sendoffs

Post by Ricomortis »

Thought I'd start a thread for all you cgc freaks that want to send stuff off to get slabbed. Feel free to tell or show us what it is you are sending off and/or what you got back. Also feel free to guess what each will be or what you thought each would have gotten.

I shall lead the way.... cause santa came today. :D

Here we go:

Rai 5 - CGC 9.6 (arggg! hoping for 9.8, but honestly knew 9.6)

Solar 8 - CGC 9.6 (Thought this one was a 9.8 lower end, but it didn't
quite make it.)

HARD Corps Gold 1 - CGC 9.6 (This one I am *SQUEE* about. I can not
find one flaw, anywhere. Sharp corners, no
blunting, crisp, sharp color, NO stress marks(not
even non color breaking) and I even had someone
else give it a look over today and they couldn't find
ANYTHING.)

Batman 429 - CGC 9.6 (thought this one had a good shot at a 9.8, but
was not extremely surprised to see it come back 9.6)

Magnus 1 - CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

X-O Manowar 5 - CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

.....and we are off....GO!

I'd bet on ink flaking on the gatefold cover at the extra fold.

I was thinking the same thing. Nice haul though.

If you're disappointed with the 9.6, I know someone who would love to take it off your hands.

Lol...palls

to late... it went in the registry first thing this morning. :P I have another rai 5 going in the next batch... or the batch after... so :hope: .

Anyone gonna be sending anything soon? And for those curious it took... not quite 6 weeks to send them, grade them, and have them back in my hands. So the turn around time isn't to bad now. :thumb:

For the past three years, I've thought I'd get a batch together
for CGC "next month". So many next months have come and gone,
that I'd be lying if I said I'll definitely send them soon...
but I still plan to!

I've got most of my collection buried in longboxes which are themselves buried
underneath stacks of comics, magazines, and books that I've received
in the mail lately. It will be a serious "cleaning day" before I can even
find anything in this cardboard time-capsule.

:D Got my latest batch back from CGC. I thought I'd share the results once again for those who care.

Valiant:

Solar #1 - CGC 9.6 (hmm...thought 9.6 at LEAST)

Rai #9 Gold - CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

Unity #1 Gold - CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

Rai #1 - CGC 9.8 (thought maybe 9.8 but for sure a strong 9.6)

Harbinger 4 - CGC 9.8 (thought 9.6 but was hoping for 9.8)

Magnus #1 - CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

Harbinger #0 Pink - CGC 9.8 (thought it would get a 9.6)

Others:

Uncanny X-men 281 - CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

ASM 363 - CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

Walking Dead 9 - CGC 9.6 (thought a strong 9.8....scratches head)

Walking Dead 19 - CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

Overall I was VERY pleased... :thumb:

Nice submission, Rico!! What's up with the Walking Deads? Great book there. Are you putting a slabbed run of those together? I still need a #2 to finish my set and the only one I have slabbed is a #1 9.8!! Awesome series!! :thumb:

yea... It is a horror pre-unity.lol Great writing on a great series. One of only 2 or 3 books that I actually read. Anyway... yea I'll be sending in others each month. I'd like to get a 9.8 run up to at least 20. Yea, I know, its not "worth" it to most to slab these but man do those awsome freaking covers look sweet slabbed. :thumb:

As for the Valiants, I am finishing up on sending them off to get slabbed. I will send a few more submissions and then it will be only one here and there. I decided to pass on the 9.6 valiants, except the ones I "need" for my registry.

Its time to start rotating to some of my other collections and getting their slabbed runs started. :hope:

:o

Only took a few days over 4 weeks for me to send them, get them graded and back into my hands. Not to damn shabby, compared to the early summer months.

Anyway.. here are the latest results....(drumroll)

Valiant:

Harbinger 4 CGC 9.6 (about what I figured, hoped for higher)

Rai 3 CGC 9.6 (same as above) needed for registry

Rai 5 CGC 9.6 (same as above)

Solar 11 CGC 9.6 (thought 9.6 but need for registry)

Shadowman #5 Preview CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

Archer & Armstrong CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

Harbinger 6 CGC 9.8 (BOOYA! Finally...damn that cover is hard and not
very many copies I have come across are in to bueno of
condition. Thought 9.6 so that was a very pleasant surprise.

Non-Valiant:

Punisher War Journal #1 CGC 9.6 (yuck! thought 9.8)

The Walking Dead #11 CGC 9.8 (thought 9.8)

And that is it for this round....

good but not great... aw well...still need that rai 5 ...
