Homage Covers

Post by ManofTheAtom »

If Alien Books were to publish covers that homage the original VALIANT Universe but flipped the characters around, which VEI iteration would homage which VH 1 cover (i.e. VEI Bloodshot homages the cover to VH 1 X-O Manowar Vol. 1 #1, VEI Archer & Armstrong homages the cover to VH 1 Harbinger Vol. 1 #1, VEI Eternal Warrior homages the cover to VH 1 Shadowman Vol. 1 #1, or VEI X-O Manowar homages the cover to VH 1 Eternal Warrior Vol. 1 #1), ?

Not if done right.

Over on the Facebook page Martin Casanova from Alien likes the idea. He thinks it could work as part of next year's 35th anniversary. It be cool if they could implement it. It has the potential to be a lot of fun.

I like the idea too with the right artists. It’d be great if they could get some of the VEI top artists from the relaunch days (2012-2015). LaRosa, Suayan, Nord, etc. to give their interpretations.

That would be fun, for sure. And some classic artists too, like Hall.

I've always thought it would be fun if there was an Archer & Armstrong series with covers (regular or variant) that homaged the posters for the Bud Spencer and Terence Hill movies.

What other movies could other VALIANT series similarly homage?

Guess Ninjak could do Bond posters. Eternal Warrior as Highlander could be too much on the nose. Maybe X-O as Robocop?

X-O as Conan and Iron Man I imagine.
